I’ve seen some scenes from the original movie, and Zach did a great job with this role, I think he in general is just one of those actors that’s vey good at changing his mannerisms and speech and demeanor to fit whatever character he needs to be at the time, there r some differences cuz Zach sort of made it his own but he did a very good job of really making me see the original Harold in him with this this movie, everyone did a good job with their roles, I loved all the characters and Harold wasn’t my favorite but Zach is an actor who I really live and respect and he just needs some praise for this role just all the praise there is 😁

It amazing to me that these men had lived in such a scary time for gay men and women but found a avenue to live where they can be them to the max and be happy.

Interesting thing is, the real life guy actually looks more like Jim Parsons than Zachary Quinto. I can't say anything against the casting, though, because I haven't seen the actual performance.

I was thinking the same thing! And it's true in the original movie, too. Kenneth Nelson (the og Michael) looked quite a bit like Howard Jeffrey, whereas Leonard Frey (og Howard) didn't really.

There is similarity between Zachary Quinto's acting style and Jim Sarb's acting style

They needed to update this for today or the 1990s. It felt 90s not 60s. The 1970 film directed by William Friedkin can’t be approximated. It needs to be in the Library of Congress.

Quinto seemed like he was acting within the acting. The director didn’t direct the actors well imho which is baffling because he’s one of the greatest on the stage today. DeJesus and Tuc Watkins were flawless. Sad,y the critical scene of Larry and Hank didn’t have the same moving poignancy as the 1970 film. It felt acerbic and rushed.

I liked them all but Larry I liked i really did especially when he did his dialog about him and Hanks relationship at the phone call scene but there's other parts of him prior to that I really didn't like about him. But he did play the role well.
