Ha ha, this song reminds me of my parents. they have been together since they were 15, married at 21. In their 70's now and dad says hysterical shit like this about mum; but when mum got hit by a rogue wave and broke her neck last year, he didn't hesitate about jumping in and holding her still till help arrived. She called him her hero. they are still going strong.

Tim is a good musician and a genius wordsmith. I marvel at how he manages to remember everything. Absolutely amazing performance

God, I love that "she made me like this." He can really sound like he's dying a bit on the inside. xD Great reaction anyway. It's great to see someone react to these songs and expanded performances by Tim.

That, and his delivery of "So don't you worry about *my sick fucking wife."* are perfection.

@@carpelibrarium8522 Agreed. Also the "in our little lives" line. Tim's stand-up is so underrated and underappreciated.

If you want to know about Tim's early career, then I think what you want is the documentary "Rock N' Roll Nerd". When Tim was first starting out, he had a friend who was a filmmaker and had the idea to document the life of a struggling performer. But he ended up accidentally documenting the rise of an extremely successful performer. The documentary was released in 2008 and it named after one of Tim's songs. There's a full length copy on KZbin but with Cyrillic subtitles of some kind. You might be able to find a clean copy somewhere to watch or even react to

I absolutely love both his comedy and his musicality. I would highly recommend his original song, White Wine in the Sun, as it is remarkably sweet. Also, don’t miss his performances in Jesus Christ Superstar as Judas. His Heaven on Their Minds is just fantastic.

He's one of my favorite Australian comedians. And, yes, I do have more than one. Have you seen him and Brian Cox doing the Galaxy Song? They're adorable together.

Wouldn’t say it was autotune on his live vox, but that he’s singing against effected harmony vox on playback. His live voice is pretty clean, but there’s a lot of overproduced garbage behind him to make the dance-pop genre work (and also be funny).

I spent yesterday watching your tim minchin videos and just assumed I missed this one. Then I scrolled down and there were no comments. You should do White Wine in the Sun next. Also, Talked Too Much, Stayed Too Long has some info about his career arc, not sure if it's accurate or not

Notice you do musical reactions and not sure if you're aware but Tim wrote the music/songs for the Matilda musical. Also on the subject of musicals, the buffy the vampire slayer episode, once more with feeling, is great! I believe it was the first TV show to do a musical episode and does it properly with barely any spoken words.
@jackwhitbread45832 жыл бұрын
Nope he didn't write any musical, he composed the music and lyrics for 2 musicals though. Matilda and groundhog day

Gotta disagree with ya.... As the Father of 2(uncle of 9, great uncle of 2) ... That PERFECTLY captures kids sleeping... It's Funny for me (and others) BECAUSE it's so overblown and the comedy is in the Physical stuff... And the punchline "F U Baby!!!" Is something EVERY parent feels sometimes.... Same with Sam Jackson reading 'go the F to sleep'

I thought the autotune was just a small jab at boy band music.

Exactly my thought. Back Street Boys was his first thought on the style of the song, yet he completely missed the auto-tune jab?

I do not respect anyone reviewing Tim as I do you. I still have a sealed signed cd and love. Morty want one? There is a documentary and it shows the second he “made it” and was found. If you like I’ll find the spot send you the timing. I won’t even tell you- it is 100% how you would think Tim coulda been found. He did accordion first. Just songs. But TONY THE FISH- you want intelligent comedy that requires a brain that’s it. Keep up great work

Tim has said that the reason he's a musical comedienne is that he's not good enough at playing the piano to be a musician, and he's not funny enough to be a comedian so he sorta combines the two...
