I love the manifestation of Jean's powers in X3, Famke's got quite so intimidating there, without even using her hands and having taking control with all the matters around her even those not on her plain sight. However, X3's version is closest to reality... no phoenix entity but solely their Phoenix is just a phenomenon- which upsets the fans, ofcourse. Not to mention Almost all people want Rebecca as the insidious villain Mystique, rather they not only made her a prominent protagonists but also chose an overrated actress who cannot stand the prostethics, turning the character in disguise most of the time, which is contradicting because Mystique prefers to use her powers only when necessary because her concentration is divided whenever she uses it! 😠

First off, I would say that the power Jean displayed in X-Men Apocalypse was not the Phoenix Force, but simply the full manifestation of her own latent power. As the Pheonix Force itself doesn't become a part of Jean's power until after the space shuttle events. Second, the Pheonix Force wasn't a corrupting influence necessarily, it just never had experienced anything like human emotions until it started using Jean as a host. It was through that , in combination with Jean's own mental state, that caused the Pheonix to corrupt itself and go over the deep end. But if you watch the cartoon series, at the end of the saga the Pheonix Force realizes just how crazy it has becomes and decides to leave Jean's body so that it can return to it's true uncorrupted state of being( in other words get it's head straight again). The entity itself is not evil, and never has been, it was just inexperienced with the state of being human, which it got to experience through Jean. I think it's said in the comics that Jean's mutant powers by themselves are that of an Omega level mutant which makes her already out of this world powerful. That contributed to her being a perfect host for the Pheonix Force and one who could contain it's powers. It also allowed her to be one of the few who could tap into the Pheonix Force's full power as The White Pheonix of the Crown.

You reference the comic but it doesn't look like you read it. The X-MEN had been held captive by The Sentinels on a Space Station. They defeated the Sentinels and used a space shuttle to escape back to Earth. In route the shuttle got hit by a solar flare, Jean zapped Scott and the others hid below in a shielded part of the shuttle. The shuttle had to be piloted manually and Jean stayed to fly it. There wasn't any rescue mission, they were escaping The Sentinels. I had this mag once long ago and I still remember it.

In issue 101 of Uncanny X-men Jeans exposure to radiation disintegrated her body and she briefly became an entity of pure thought before reforming herself. This incident vastly upgraded her powers and Jean went on to call herself Phoenix to mark her death by fire and subsequent resurrection. At that point in continuity there was no such thing as the Phoenix Force. Just Jean Grey. The original ending to the Dark Phoenix Saga was that Jean Grey would undergo a psychic lobotomy by the Shi'ar as punishment, i.e removing the parts of her mind that were responsible for her psi powers However a Marvel editor at the time did not think this was punishment enough and so Chris Claremont had Jean commit suicide. In 1986 a Marvel writer wanted to bring back the original X-men (Beast, Angel, Cyclops, Iceman and Jean) under a new team called X-factor, however Marvel editors were against a mass murderer (Jean Grey) now being presented as a hero. Thats when they came up with the idea of making a separate entity responsible for the crime, thereby removing all responsibility from Jean Grey making her free to be a part of this new Xfactor team. Thereby from Fantastic Four 286 released in 1986 the Phoenix Force was introduced to continuity meaning that we are now to view the earlier saga as always having been the Phoenix Force.

Your summation is 2million percent wrong... she crash landed in Jamaica bay along with the rest of the xmen after a not so routine mission into space. She didnt have an out of body experience, she cried out for help when she realized that she couldn't hold the shuttle together. The Phoenix force is a malevolent entity that needed a host to support it... it chose Jean. When the shuttle crashed, "jean" emerged from the bay as PHOENIX. Her amplified abilities got out of control since the PHOENIX force needed to consume energy to survive. At night she routinely scoured the galaxy looking for uninhabited planets to consume to satiate its hunger. Unfortunately it chose the d'bari planet and consumed 11 million sentient beings. It was this act that caused Jean's guilt and what set the shi'ar on her trail. During this time, the mutant named mastermind used his illusion casting power to muck with Jean's mind and let her embrace her decadent self, unaware of the fact he was feeding directly into the PHOENIX force's agenda. Mastermind went too far and wasnt able to control Jean anymore and ultimately released the dark PHOENIX upon the world. The shi'ar tracked her down and transported the team onto their ship where they revealed to Charles and the xmen about the d'bari and his Jean was responsible for their deaths. Originally Jean was simply going to be lobotomized and the part of her brain that accessed her powers was to be removed. However one of the editors at marvel said that punishment wasn't enough for the murder of 11 million beings, and that Jean had to die. In the comics, Charles issued the ONE shi'ar challenge he KNEW his girlfriend lilandra... empress of the shi'ar... was unable to refuse. A battle between the shi'ar imperial guard and the xmen for Jean's life. They both were transported to the moon and observed by the watcher, and a representative from both the kree and the skulls. The fight went in favor of the shi'ar, with Scott and Jean being the last 2 xmen standing. On the run and looking for cover, Jean pleaded with Scott to end the fight and surrender. Scott refused and Jean said if they were to survive and somehow defeat the imperial guard on their own, she would have to remain in total control for every remaining second of her life, and that she couldn't do it. As she begged Scott, she activated a long dormant weapon behind her, raised it from the debris, and used its energy blast to kill herself. The xmen returned to earth, never contacting the shi'ar for several months. Years later, Scott, his brother Alex, and their newly discovered father corsair, former leader of the star jammers, decided to visit corsair's parents in alaska. They got a flight on a cargo plane, and when the pilot emerged, she looked as if she could have been Jean's twin sister. Her name was madelyn Pryor. She began dating Scott shortly afterwards and revealed that she was the only survivor of a plane crash in September of 1980 on the exact day Jean died. Scott ended up marrying her and having a baby who would end up becoming Cable. Later it was revealed that maddy was a genetic clone of Jean created by mr sinister to torment the summers family. Something in their genetic make up intrigued sinister and he was woven into their family history. During a rescue effort at LaGuardia airport, the avengers found a 'cocoon' at the bottom of the bay and brought it back to their mansion for examination due to it 'leaking' unusual energy. With the help of the fantastic four who were temporarily staying at the mansion, Jean grey was discovered to be in the cocoon. She emerged with stronger telekinetic skills but no telepathy, and she remembered the shuttle accident and the Phoenix force, but nothing afterwards until she 'woke up'. It was revealed that the Phoenix force put Jean into suspended animation to heal her injuries while it copied her down to a genetic level. Scott divorced madelyn and abandoned his baby to go back to Jean, and madelyn made a deal with the demon n'astrih to get power and revenge on scott. Madelyn died and 'life went on' for the xmen and Scott. Jean died several more times but was reborn each time. During one period after one of her deaths, Scott started sleeping with former hellfire club member now xman, the white queen.

Too bad this video is a misinformation fest. Just to correct one... The Jean from The Last Stand had vast uncontrollable powers so in order to help control that, Xavier blocked much of it so Jean can tap on what she can control. Eventually she started to tap into this walled powers starting X2 and released it by the end of the movie... instead of dying her full powers saved her and everything she repressed (her emotions etc) became part of that power and caused her to run back and forth to being jean and phoenix... and no she did not have multiple personas as a child...

Are you kidding? X-Men was “SJW” from the start. It has ALWAYS addressed the social issues of the day-including, in a limited way, women’s rights. Jean may have been introduced partly as “eye candy”, but almost immediately she began to prove her worth as a full member of the team. (However, I agree that the main message of the Dark Phoenix saga is not feminist. In fact that storyline carries some unfortunate sexist implications about women and power. Which is why it’s not one of my favorites.)
