As awesome as this video is, it still lacks a very important aspect of the Phoenix/Jean relationship. Dark Phoenix isn't the strongest of all the Phoenix form iterations. The White Phoenix of the Crown takes that title. Jean Grey also happens to be the one most associated with that form. Her most awesome display of power was basically rewriting the whole 616 Marvel Universe. To the ones who still think that Thanos with his stones can take on Phoenix/Jean, you're delusional. Thanos isn't even among Marvel's most powerful cosmic beings. The Phoenix Force or Phoenix/Jean entity is a multiversal omniscient being. She cannot be killed and she can exist in any reality and all realities at the same time. As the guardian of creation, she decides who gets to live and who dies. That is her very purpose. I'm still talking about regular Phoenix here since The White Phoenix of the Crown is on a whole different scale of power.

Jean without PF isn't amoung marvels cosmic beings either, she can't even contend with Skyfathers while Thanos has. She would not be able to beat Thanos without PF. With IG thanos had beaten the abstracts in their truest forms which are multiversal. We don't know who would win if Jean with PF were to fight Thanos with IG. So no one who says thanos wins is delusional as he has feats to back it up.

The problem with the movie was that it did have some good scenes, like Charles dying and Eric showing his love for his friend that died. But it just made the pheonix so weak. It's literally unbeatable, unkillable, unerasable. It has infinite power, and can do anything and everything. And yet Wolverine kicked her ass, easily, overpowering her and killed her. To put it on scale, if wolverine so much as THOUGHT to harm her, she would have wipe him from existance and 'Wolverine' would never even have been a concept across the entire multiverse, in the past, present, and future. The movie, and this new movie, will never be able to show a great enough scale to match the Pheonix's full power. There's a reason why in the comics and cartoons it's a very long arc, and not just a short hour and a half long movie.

@@Jirodyne he didn't overpower her. You must not have paid any attention to the scene. She let him keep getting closer to see what he would do. When he finally reached her she asks "you would die for them?" Meaning humans. He says "not for them, for you" and that is enough to let Jean gain enough control over it and she says "help me" and he stabs her, ending Jean and the host for the force. So no it was nothing at all to do with wolverine overpowering her and "kicking her ass" it was her love for him(secret as it may have been) allowing her enough control to prevent the force from completely destroying him and restraining enough to allow him to end her life without the force stopping it from happening. I think you just saw wolverine walking towards her and then stabbing her and didn't take in anything else choosing to just be mad about what you saw without taking in the context or anything that was being said and paying attention to facial expressions and tone of voice. Do me a favor and watch the entire scene again paying attention to every detail, I know you'll see it in a completely different light.

Oh I know him walking up to her with her mostly letting him do it, cause she had the power to actually stop him. But I ask you to watch it again, while remembering what the Pheonix's powers are. The very fact that he can kill Jean at all, shows he overpowers the pheonix. Because the Pheonix can't die, even if the host dies, it can just bring the host back to life, it can deny death and not let the wound be mortal, and so on. But it ends there. When Jean dies, so does the Pheonix. Because the movie has the 'Pheonix', just be another personality of Jean that was sealed away by Professor X. It wasn't a cosmic being, it wasn't a secondary being, it wasn't another person. It was Jean, without her memories and powers surpressed. So basically, it was just Jean with a different powerset, it had nothing to do with the pheonix, and the only connection is the name, and some powers/abilities. Which again, pissed off a lot of people. Cause in every other version, the Pheonix was a cosmic being, even the Cartoons dealt with Aliens and being from outter space. But the movies, they cash grabbed on the idea, while fucking it up 100% of the way.

The Phoenix would lose against TOAA as well. It all depends on the host. If the host can control the power and use full power that host would become unstoppable. But of the host is weak and can't control the powers then it has good chance getting defeated by TOAA Living Tribunal Franklin Molecule man and many people thats part one above all. Rachael one of the strongest host was able defeat Beyonder in secret wars by using full power of Phoenix but Beyonder only told Rachael that she holding back the true power of Phoenix. Well Thane the weakest host who couldn't control or didn't know how to use Phoenix power has greater chance of losing.

Also the Dark Phoenix was only dark because of humanities tendency to be capable of both great good and great evil at the same time. She got caught up in the mind of Jean Grey when she possessed her body, and she only did so because she sensed this body was like her. Jean was modified by a being called the Beyonder who gave her a huge boost to her power, it didn't take hold though until years later when she went on the space mission to help the astronaughts who were in danger of their ship cracking apart while in orbit. The phoenix force was flying by when it sensed Jean's distress and it merged with her as she was flying the shuttle back to earth (her being the only one who could survive re-entry because of her telekinetic force field. What I just described is the ORIGINAL story of the Dark Phoenix before they came out with the first graphic novel, I collected all of the comics from that series on their #1 release of each.m

The Dark Phoenix Theme in Last Stand is one of the most powerful Themes in cinema history. Shame the movie didn't live up to it. Though her face off with Charles is the single best scene in any of the X-Men movies outside of "Logan". The only thing that weakens it is the cut back in forth between the clown show going on elsewhere, Juggernaut, Omega ect.
