On a different occasion, I utilized an AKG 414 as the flat mic. I had an auto tune unit and when the EQ was done being auto-contoured, it was this razor sharp ups & downs at specific frequencies (extremely harsh use of an EQ) .. My CORRECTION of the 'auto room correction system' was to ONLY TRUST the dip center points & cue width. These cue frequency center points were then used in MY tuned by ear system setting.

In conclusion, the auto-tune is a second opinion, or a scientific way of determining the exact frequency center point of a standing wave in the room (as well as the cue width). You will achieve a smoother EQ (less harsh in the digital age) if you transfer your findings to a parametric EQ. The highs & high mids may be trusted more than the low frequencies. The auto tune is trying to flatten out everything, and will add speaker blowing low frequencies all the way down to 20Hz...

Don't ever rely on an auto analyzer. I've been doing this for 30 years, and here are a couple of experiences I've had: 1) I had a band leader install a spectrum analyzer on the house system, and we pink noised the house, and I made all the LED indicators flat across the system. My intuitive response to the band leader was that we were pushing way too much low frequencies into the subs. He didn't seem concerned. I was worried, the speakers blew soon after that...

Hello. do you know if it is possible to create a negative correction curve? selecting maximum +2 or 0 and correcting most frequencies for example -3 -4?

What the hell is that mountain that you have at about 50Hz?? Is that the hum from your equipment fans?? It seems to be very steady. Planning on getting one of these for my rig in a few weeks once the finances can stand it! :)

I subscribed to your channel. Please help me to calibrate my Behringer curve 24/96 EQ. I have this unit for about 8mos ago but can't get it working. Do I need to buy that mic you are using? Thanks

Escape Although this is a versatile piece of equipment it is one of the most inexpensive on the market. The function show using the RT mic is only calibrates the room and in a small room this wont work well due to schroeder frequency which is why you will see it is quite high in this video hence the random low dynamic EQ.The second point to make is that the calibration mic is worth a massive £30 and what can you expect. This should not be used solely on its own therefore invest in a Pro graphic!

Does room correction, puts the mic in the ceiling and then wonders the strange eq correction curve (facepalm)

seriously... 450's would cut your head off with their mid-high to high without being boosted - jeepers i would not like to be there anywhere near them - manual eq to taste all the way!
