I just purchased this exact Amp for my son, and I must say, it is impressive for the money. Peavey did good on this in my opinion. I'm a drummer of 25+ years, and I play LOUD using mics, and this Amp keeps right up with me with ease. Well worth the money if you ask me. my son loves it, (he plays lot of rock/metal music).

I bought that very amp back about a year after they came out and it immediately became my favorite amp I ever owned. I got rid of most of my pedals, as I was si satisfied with the parameters this thing came with. Such a good sound.

Thanks for the great demo Lucas, loved your guitar skills. I picked up a defunct Vypyr 30, exactly the same, for next to nothing recently and after repairing it has become my go to jamming amp. Easy to use once I got a Sanpera pedal and considering what it is, basically a low cost amp, can get amazing tones from it, my pals are always amazed! I leave my other gear, including pedals at home now and have some fun with it. The clean sounds (Fender twin) are ok for sure, maybe others can do better but for gain sounds this thing can rock. Effects are quite usable too. Thanks again and best wishes.

I have had several modelling amps, (Vox, Fender) and to be honest, if you EQ them right, play with good technique (and put aside pre-suppositions about tube amps being the only nice tone) they can sound really good. I have used so many great tube amps, with complicated pedal chains...I long again for the simplicity of plugging straight into an amp!

I Still gig with my vypyr 120 the high gain tones are a beast and with a little tweaking nice clean tones too. Underrated amp!

I at time experience some issues with my 30 version. It's volume level becomes unstable at times. Vary it self a bit high and low.
@garyseals78744 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem on my Vypyr 120. What I did was removed the head from the cabinet, once you do that you will notice a plug in ribbon running from the master volume pot to a circuit board, the plugs have either 3 or 4 individual wires which are inserted into the plastic plugs via little pins, those pins are what hold the plugs in place and make electrical contact to the circuit board. One of those little pins may not be seated securely in the plug as is not always immediately apparent by looking at it with the naked eyes. Unplug the ribbon from the master volume pot and take something pointy like a toothpick insert it in the end of the plug where the wires run through and push each individual wire more snugly into the plug reconnect the plug to the the master volume pot and do the same to the plug at the circuit board, remember the lack of connection is not always visible to the naked eyes. It worked in my situation I hope it helps aswell.

Good demo of what this amp sounds like with your presets, I just picked one up on ebay to mess around with at home. And you're an awesome player!
@LucasFowler11 жыл бұрын
Good question! Yes, I set the post gain low because it seems to make the master volume knob taper a little slower. So I can really get the volume low for practice and not have it jump tremendously.

I have a video of one of these I took in, fixed up, and sold. It is indeed a wonderful amp for the money. The low/moderate gain was more my style with it. Although I generally don't like digital modeling things, if I were to name the favorite I've seen/heard, THIS would be it. I genuinely liked this amp, and was glad to find it a good home.

Sounds awesome brother. I have this amp but I think to fully benefit I should get the foot switch. I just feel like a switch costing more than my amp was silly but hearing yours makes me rethink the situation. I don't play in a band but wanted an amp I could get lots of sounds/tone from and for $199 new in the box I was very pleased and now watching your vid it has renewed my interest and enthusiasm. I wish I had a tenth of your talent. Listen to some Insomnium and see if you can get a similar sound. If you do send me a PM and the amount I owe you HA! Cheers bro. Metal!

Great demo Lucas. I put a Celestion G12S-50 speaker in mine and it just gives it a bit more of that British flavor. I prefer the Krank and Rec models on lower gain as opposed to the Marshall models that are too tubby. Makes a great B rig to my Pod HD500/Mesa 50/50 setup. Rock on dude!

These tones are insanely cool. I had a Vypyr 30 for about 6 years and recently upgraded to a VIP3, but didn't like it as much as the original 30 so I bought another one. if you find you are inept,lack skill or just plain suck shit then you should really try to do something about it.there are always dozens of guys saying they are going to burn their guitar when they see someone who can actually play well.i always laugh when i see this and feel sorry for the poor idiots who say this.another solution is to actually practice,improve,and become another person who can play rather than talking about it.im easily as good or better than this guy and his videos are great.im not bragging,i just put the time in and learned how to play like you should.

I had the vypyr 75 with the larger sanpera II pedal. That pedal would fuck up every time I used it and the amp would freeze, so definitely not something to play out with. Other than that the tones were pretty killer. I might consider the second generation and replace the speaker as many have done.

Nice to see such a positive video on this amp. I have had one of these older Vyper 30s for several years. I think it is a great amp. I have used mine in the studio (Check out The FRANK FEROZ BAND at Spotify, Amazon and here to check out the tones but forgive the playing!) I used the effects in this for the entire project except for a wha wha on one song. I have used my Vyper in a 500 seat theater and at a large outdoor gig with no problems. Mr. Peavey and his team did a great job with these amps. You can't beat the price for an amp this full of power and features.. Lucas, nice playing and a very informative video! Thank you!!

Does anyone know if these old versions of the Vypyr 30 watts and 75 watts have the same dimensions? Considering that both have a 12 speaker (height, width, length)
@factsonly59948 ай бұрын
They both have a 12inch speaker but the 75 is a bigger amp size and volume wise. I have a 75 now and I used to own the 30. There also has an aux and usb port, and a power sponge control. I use a Mesa Boogie Roadster and a Mark IV. But I always turn on my Vypyr because you can dial in any tone with patience. These older vypyrs are king because you can dial in the stompbox effects too.
