KAJ is scoring to win, if he was polishing his stats at any point it doesn't matter because only a handful of guys in the NBA have more titles and most of those with more titles don't even have half the stats of KAJ and were benchwarming while Bill Russell was stuffing his stats.

I hope the young guys viewing this video totally understand and fully appreciate how tremendously great this man was. Look at the inside foot work, spin left, spin right before going into the sky hook rotation. In the paint domination, semi mid range sky hook domination. This is totally a lost art in today's game. If he were in the game today with the spread offense and lane wide open, he might average per game 50 or 60 points. So much technique and facility. His ability to find the open man in the low post is phenomenal. I don't believe comparing different positions to each other, but arguably the GOAT within any position. Jabbar got to where he could nail that sky hook from the baseline 12 to15 feet from the basket at 50% or better. I would take Kareem over any other center in history because he had the only shot that nobody could get a glove on and it was exclusively his shot. For a guy his size he had a soft touch on a regular jumper up to 12 feet or so. He also swatted down enough shots in his career to scare anyone from strolling into the lane for an easy shot. He damn near eliminated that part of the floor from the other team. I saw opponents try to shoot in the lane and alter their normal shot fearing that Jabbar would block it. He took them out of their game but nobody took him out of his.
@jadenng7569 Жыл бұрын
People forget that the skyhook was not the only move he used. Kareem in his Bucks years would sometimes post up on the left block, then do a turnaround jumper while leaning on the defender and drawing contact. His height made this nearly unstoppable, and his floaters, midrange jumper and one legged runner were just as deadly.

There were 5 guys that were pretty much in the discussion for the GOAT center. Many say it was Shaq, and he was a beast for sure. Others like Wilt, he averaged 50 points per game for an entire season. Better say that again; 50 a game average over an 82 game season. Bill Russell is favored by still others because of his domination in the lane on defense and because his teams won 11 championships in 14 years. If anything should be said twice it's that; Bill Russell's teams won 11 championships in14 years. They expected to win every year and they nearly did. Hakeem Olajuwon was the most physically talented I believe. At 7' 1" he could make moves around the basket that were difficult to defend. Then there's Kareem. I remember at 12 or 13 watching him dominate year after year after year. He was relatively thin so he could run the floor and he could handle the ball and once in a while he'd run a fast break. Because he was flexible and nimble he had the edge on all other far less mobile centers. If you didn't like the Lakers back then then you had to turn off the game because he could nail that hook shot like it was a walk in the park. He would piss you off because you began to wonder if he's ever going to miss one. I have to go with Kareem as the GOAT center.
