One you go trereo, it’s impossible to go back to mono. I’ve been using drives in parallel for a long time, and it’s just beautiful how you can manipulate textures with parallel drives. Great video as always, Mark.

Yes, wonderful layering and a big sound. Only issue I have with pedals like this - NO pre-sets. Which means you have to use it selectively and can't easily switch between sounds.

If you want to isolate each output and make it footswitchable, do you think you can combine the beam splitter with the signal blender like this : main output of the beam goes to the input of the blender ; blue or green beam input goes to the A / B return of the blender ; blue or green beam inout goes to the B / A return of the blender. Then, you're going from the out of the blender directly to your amp into a mono context ; or from the out of the blender and from one of the send of the blender for into a stereo context. Do you think guys this could be work ?

I love this pedal its got all the psyched out crazy tape echo of multiple drives layered together played over eachother. The hardest thing is figuring where to put it in a pedalboard. The trereo outputs def makes it hard if using something like acs1 and still wanting that trereo

I'm not a fan of that purple circuit. It has this weird slow envelope filter thing going on. Sounds like an active tone control being pushed too hard without enough input signal hitting it. Has this very unnatural sounding decay when the notes ring out.

Oh, so OBNE made their version of a Deco! lol Thats a bit reductive, but theirs some similarities.

I think claiming this is just the “old blood version of a Deco” is the truly reductive take here. The deco is legendary and for good reason but the deco is “dual tape machine emulation” and this is very explicitly three different drive circuits with two of them married to a short delay. There are sonic overlaps but the pedals themselves are vastly dissimilar.

deco accepts stereo trs input with a cable that strymon has. So you technically only need two decos. But I may just run a single deco and then have a dry channel of direct distortion or maybe use it as a lofi circuit who knows@@masterofreality230

@@mrhelpnowI mean I guess there is an issue if you are running a stereo reverb or delay and wanting that on all three paths. But I imagine the most common usage will be for WET/DRY/WET rigs, having two of the outputs going into your stereo modulation and wet effects and then into two amps, while keeping one output dry of any effects and just going straight into an amp.
