This guy sucks. The problem with these amp and pedal demo videos are these bad players. They're unlistenable. All of them. And you're stuck literally taking a chance and wasting your money buying an amp or pedal demoed by a bad player. A good player gives you the likely outcome of the real amp and pedal tone. You know what you're getting. No pig in a poke. I say it's the fault of the companies who give their products to these embarrassments who have no business demonstrating anything.

I found that the more you turned the speed down, the more “throbby” it sounded, and the faster it was turned, the more it sounded like a symmetrical sine wave. I kept hoping you would turn it slower than 3, to see if the throb increased even more, because I always set a Univibe slightly slower than the slowest setting you demonstrated here.

It sounds ok for what they charge but it’s not even close to a more expensive unit like a sabbadius or a Kingtone. The throb sounds synthetic and too uniform like a perfect sine wave whereas a real bulb vibe is more skewed and imperfect. Just me 2cents

@CorbCorbin12 күн бұрын
@@emdae921 No one should be trying to build a vintage replica. There were a lot of them that sound bad. Sabbadius builds about as high quality as it gets. He has a full size one, but he uses better parts than the original, and has switch for turning off the lfo, so it’s just the preamp, and that’s where there’s a big difference. The preamp isn’t even put in most more affordable vibes. They usually just put volume pots, with a slight boost. Then there’s playing one with the real deal, speed control foot pedal(it’s a 5 pin cable), which gives an actual sweep, instead of just slow and fast, like units that use a TRS insert and a normal expression pedal. One can feel the difference when playing the more expensive ones. If Uni Vibe isn’t one’s thing, or they just want it for a cover, or to try, I wouldn’t buy a Behringer, but there are plenty of great ones for $150-250.
@emdae92112 күн бұрын
@CorbCorbin I know of Sabbadius :) And I get it, but again who is beringer hurting? Beringer of course dont use good parts and are more out there for leaners, experiment and again i dont think this is terrible. This sounds a lot nicer than my dunlop JH series vibe, not exactly cheap and exactly what you said, no preamp. I use other pedals as my preamp like my tube screamer. Anyhow thanks for the extra info, was a good read!

Great demo fella, for the money it’s a steel. My bet is that if you whip the back of it will be an LED with 4x LDRs surrounding it, it won’t be a proper lamp. All the jingle jangle about throb, double heart beat and asymmetrical phasing etc is down to the bias and offset of the lamp. The easiest way to achieve that is through trim pots. 100% this will not have adjustable pots inside, it will be an SMD board with fixed resisters. Do people really think someone is going to manually adjust a mass produced pedal - come on now boutique brigade with primark money

Seems bright but that could be your amp, settings or pickups. Nice playing. I think the pedal itself is lacking that lush chewiness that I would want in a univibe style pedal. There is too much stuttering in the intensity, none of that double heart beat pulsing and sounds more like a wowowowow. Love the playing and like the channel, just not digging the pedal tones. The vibrato setting sounds more like a tremolo. Editing to add that for only $69, it is a pretty good deal. A Sabbadius or R. Weaver FX vibe will run you $450-$1,100.

Because. Chorus And Vibrato Or. Vibe Also. Classic Chorus Retro Ensemble Bla bla bla So there are so many different circuits people get confused. To attack a company who only tries to give inexperienced and players who can't afford the thousands of dollars for one vintage pedal and vintage guitar and amp. Behringer are the best guitar pedal brand for inexpensive pedals. The other companies who make millions of pedals and sell them for 20$ even for what jhs would call a new circuit they get grief from morons. I'm sorry, but Eric Carlson is right - with all respect, you don't know anything about these things...maybe you think it sounds great when you play this or play that, but - respectfully - your not showing the pedal how it's intended to be used. You obviously don't know. Your demo is so A.D.D. it's distracting. And, sadly, he's right - nobody cares about how or what you can play. We're not tuning in for that.
