The original Uni-Vibes all sounded a little different. To say “this sounds just like the original” is saying this sounds like the 1 or 2 that I’ve heard. I owned an original for 30 years (technically was my dad’s 😂) This one sounds like “a” uni-vibe. Not exactly the same chorus sound, vibrato was more noticeably different than the one I had. I now own an MJM Sixties Vibe (18v) gen 1 or 2. When I got it it was almost perfect. Inside is a small pot, ever so slightly adjusting that pot got me the exact sound I grew to know and love. Anyways… wish my MJM had an expression pedal jack 😂

Got minw yesterday, what a fantastic pedal! You're not going to find another Univibe anywhere near this price point that's half as good. Pre-ordered mine the day it was announced, wasn't supposed to be available in the US until May, same with the Centaur, that arrived last week. One thing I noticed, ifdoing the classic fuzz into Univibe, there's waaaaaay too much modulation. It sounds much better going Univibe into fuzz. The chorus sound with intensity and speed rolled back a bit sounds great on a clean/light dirt channel. Well worth the $70.

I believe Hendrix used fuzz after. It's more fuzzy and less vibey. I like both. We all should. lol
@CG-rf6nu4 күн бұрын
@Illneverremember1 Hendrix almost always ran fuzz first, after adding the univibe in '69, before dropping the Octavia in '70, it ran, strat, vox crybaby wah, Dallas Arbiter fuzz face, Octavia, Univibe, marshall stacks. He dropped the Octavia in '70 and towards the end of the BOG tour in '70 he started putting the Univibe before the Dallas Arbiter fuzz. He had long curly leads that apparently tamped down the highs, and he has modded amps to boost his treble because of this. The only reason I mention the last bit is that it's credited with helping him achieve his iconic tones.

@taularvicieu94284 күн бұрын
you should not compare a large company that manufactures entry-level pedals and a craftsman who will put in quality components because he is passionate. To say that the Berhinger has a good sound really means that you have never played on a real Univibe pedal. I think it's spending your money stupidly, because it's an item that you will put in the cupboard to buy something better. a vibe is a complex effect with rare components that are expensive. if you want to have the same sound as the original shin ei univibe you have to pay the price there is no choice. all you will find on thoman are purely commercial poor quality effects. I live in Germany and here the guitarists make the craftsmen work. I prefer to buy a quality pedal for €800 from a craftsman than €800 from Thoman. a good vibe pedal is 800/1000€ after a person who is not looking for the quality of his Behringer will be very good for him

@@taularvicieu9428 Gear snobbery isn't impressive to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together, and it certainly is of little to no value when making, you know, MUSIC. I've personally played more expensive vibes (Sabbadius, etc.) and found the difference in sound marginal at best when played solo, never mind in a mix (again, this is supposed to be for making music). Don't mislead people just because YOU feel the need to rationalize your inordinately expensive gear purchases.
@taularvicieu94284 күн бұрын
@@evanherb5900This is not snobbery but common sense. knowing how to educate your ears is the basis of a guitarist. this kind of cheap pedals are very good for the price they cost, but any reasonable and lucid person is capable of understanding and hearing that the sound is not good. the univibe is a hypnotizing and quite complex effect with a history loved by many guitarists. I'm not misleading people, on the contrary, it's not because you don't have musical ears that they should think that all people are like you. I started with cheap pedals (mxr univibe, electro harmonix good vibes, jhs, drybell, deja vibe) each time I sold them because I didn't have the sound I wanted. I then saved up to buy a Sir Henri for €900 and once plugged in I had a blast, the sound was so clear, thick, warm, deep, the throb was finally present, I became passionate about this effect, I 've tried sabbadius, roger mayer, honey vibe bro. I would have liked someone to advise me 15 years ago I wouldn't have wasted my money on poor quality pedals made in China with low end components. now I don't criticize cheap pedals, I have a klon centaure aliexpress clone with the same housing as the original and it sounds very good.
