Its overrated- 90s converters were less pristine that's colored the sound that we all learned to love that much ;) I use most 90s and 80s gear ..so I know the difference . So basically to have a sampler that colors the sample on DAC ad/da converter one needs bad specs components ..so you get the " dirty" "crunchy" "warm" sample 😅 I use SP1200 , MPC3000 / MPC2000xl mpc1000 akai S950 ..I can hear difference in quality and "pristine " sound of MPC1000 compared to mpc3000 easy..but with a little EQ out if the High frequencies and slight boost of the lows inside MPC1000 u can't distinguish from MPC1000.. just my 2 cents . Peace 🥁

I would buy it if Behringer goes forward with the SP1200. Thus far I have their RD-8, RD-9 and RD-6 along with quite a few of their synths and other products. They sound great. I'm buying their Lm Drum next. After that, their next drum machine clone to drop is the Oberheim clone of the DMX. If they ever clone an Akai, it will definitely be the MPC3000. I look forward to what they bring next. They are definitely shaking feathers in the hardware game.

@@theboombapkingdom8628 personally feel like Linn's reasoning for not jumping on the whole reissue train are valid imo. With that being said... I would not trust Behringer with a 3k remake. And if they made it a J Dilla edition I wouldn't fuck with it unless a percentage of the profit went to Dilla's family. But i personally don't see Behringer being able to make a 3k that lives up to the og very cheaply... Akai honestly should do a J Dilla edition of the next mpc they drop imo.

Based on what I read Behringer actually started planning back in 2019. I'm pretty positive they have a concept in the works they just wanted to see the interest from the public and that's what they'll use to decide if they're gonna move forward. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@theboombapkingdom8628 people get too wrapped around the axle with component manufacturers. What matters is how they behave and how they are used in the circuit. The Model D and the RD-8 sound close enough to the originals to me. How many of the exact original components do you think they have? Also, I'm pretty sure if a dude in his garage (both Isla and Rossum) can get a custom chip made then Behringer should be fine to pull it off.
@theboombapkingdom86289 сағат бұрын
@mckrisbo Personally I don't care who makes the DAC. Sonicware makes the Lofi-12XT for less than $500 and it sounds better than most of the samplers on the market if you are like me and like the 12 Bit sound. As long as it has the correct sonics and a few quality of life features I think they can pull it off and make it dope!

Let's deal with FACTS, because a lot of dummies will be getting all emotional one way or the other, like babies... 1) NO piece of gear gets to be the gatekeeper, and it has it's time, then it's absorbed. The Fender Strat is cloned tons of times, and even though I have a Strat, I will never CRY because they innovate them under another name. The next issue is, why do we need to pay $5000+ for a sampler which will never be different? It's not as if my ASR10 will transform into something else, and as time goes on, it might break down because it's OLD..duhhhhhhhh..Some of these samplers are so old there's a picture of the parting of the Red Sea, or the Flood inside it ,carved by Noah himself. 2) A clone is NOT a copy , because that's a felony, just Rolex has at least one model which has been cloned by 5 watchmakers. In this case, now you can get something CLOSE TO the SP 1200, without the speed limits, storage limits, and possibly with full MIDI/USB, and some tweaks.I love innovation like I love sampleheads who do MORE than rip records to make tracks, like Herbert did, to make sounds for a whole LP with NO ripped samples....3) Perhaps someone knows as fact, yet I would think that quality components of better quality are less expensive and more readily available then in 1244BC, when you had to build a forge, have some guy shovel coal, will the blacksmith fashioned the parts./tools. I hope they make it... The only folks who still care about 1766BC quality are those still crying in their caskets until they come outside at night..

Brand purists will always be against companies like Behringer, Isla Instruments, etc. Also, "big name" brands are just salty because Behringer offers quality gear at cheaper prices. Lotta gear youtubers out there (not this channel) are hired to bring Behringer down. They won't even dare to show a Behringer product on their channel. 🤷♂
