I've used almost all the modules, patched tons of cables, and still didn't get something quite convincing.
In particular, i've tried to modulate the frequency of one oscillator (used for ring modulation) with a continuous signal, but it does nothing interesting (unless you need an alarm for your car), so i finally shut down the corresponding knobs (i have not recorded this attempt).
Recorded on the 4th of april 2023. Patch performed live in one take. No overdubs, no post processing.
Synthesizer : Behringer/ARP 2500
Pedal : EHX Cathedral
Audio interface : Steinberg UR-RT 4
DAW : Cubase 10

Nice, i like this style. Was wondering if you could say why you put together the system you have here? Is it one of your dream synths? Not seen anything else like it. I would love the original but i will never be able to afford it lol! Its long been my dream synth, the nearest i have is my behringer 2600, which i love so i cant complain!

I took my time to answer because i'm not sure to have a satisfactory explanation. a) Once i've had a certain number of modules, i have been more and more convinced that it was the synth i wanted to build : only nine different modules pared-down to elementary functions, nice to look at (the colours, the very regular design, the fact that the modules are a little big which limits in some way the « spaghetti » phenomenon)... it gives off a certain serenity which i find inspiring. b) But when at first i decided to buy a big cabinet and fill it with 2500 modules, i couldn't have possibly known that. I was looking for an analog modular system (for the non-analog world, i have the Mutable Instruments system, which will make its return in a few days). I considered the Moon Modular (5U) system (i have a few modules, and i love that system, but it is much more expensive and it is terribly big), the Doepfer system (interesting, but too many different modules), the Behringer/Roland system (very interesting : it has a phaser and an audio delay, but the sequencer is not as good as the pair 1027 & 1050). The videos i watched about the original 2500 did intrigue me, and i went for the 2500... And now i'm interested in experimentations : i'm considering to buy more modules to build a system three or four times bigger than the original, and see what can pop out from that.

@@lnefpd cheers ,a very complete reply. I have a fairly large mixed eurorack system with many manufacturers and a separate one with Mutable only modules, which is a nice discipline. I love the 2500 series especially the 1047. Id like a 3 tier 84hp just for a 2500 setup but it costs nearly £200 for the case alone, even with cheap modules it adds up. all the best with you experiments and your system. Thanks again for taking the time to fully explain your reasoning, always interesting to hear what motivates others. Take it easy.
