Behringer Cat - Sound Demo (No Talking With Some Effects)

Hey guys this time a sound demo of the Behringer CAT with a bit of delay and reverb. In my opinion there is always some kind of magic when you first start playing with a new synth so i thought why not share with you guys my first experiments with this duophonic synth. You definitely sold me that synth, I have 3 cat at home :) Problem is it need a friend and a poly D look to be the best candidate... And an affordable reverb, so go with the MS70cdr ! Now I have 1000$ less, but will have fun :) And by the way, great sound !

Kept coming back to the CAT because although it is not exactly the same sounding has an original it is in fact a great standalone unique analogue synth in its own right, sounds really at home with Techno and Ambient genres. I have a Boog and now had to get the CAT too! thank you for helping me decide !! You the dude !

I'm getting this on Christmas. Your demo is really outstanding, I this I researched this synth more than any other in the over 35+ years I've been playing. I've seen some people saying the pulse oscillator sync is glitchy.... ect. but I really don't hear that in any play back videos that I've seen. Maybe if "dialing in" a particular sound.. but that did not stop me from buying this one. I think it's got a really great 70s/80s sound to it and it's a really unique one out of all of the clones that are there. Have a great upcoming holiday season.. all the best!

That part octave part that really starts to evolve at time mark: 1:25 , LOVE THAT! That Cat synth has some really nice low freqs'. While I don't like some things "internally" that Behringer has become (policy wise) as a company, I REALLY DO like their synths. I have a Crave synth module that I'm currently working with in regards to recording some more commercially licensed music I write. Really great demo! I hope you make some more songs with this and post them.

@@DYMTN So the very first notes in this demonstration is the sound coming straight from the machine with no effect a part from a bit of delay and reverb? (which ones? if may ask) Can you confirm that? I am interested in using CAT fro my bass sound.

I love the cat and the odyssey both. Duophonic beauties. I have a neutron as well and I really like it but the cat just does it with such ease. It’s much easier to dial in that octave and a maj 3rd between the oscillators and manipulate on the keyboard or sequencer. Its a little awkward to play traditionally but that’s not what I got it for. I got it to make soul stirring harmonies ignoring equal temperament of traditional keyboard instruments.

@@OssyDefunkt This is all CAT what you hear with a bit of delay and reverb. Just as DYMTN says :) DYMTN is very creative with it; so it takes some effort. You can more or less try to copy the settings from the video.

Nice one, Finally a video from a dance producer with some decent sounds that I would use. That's why I never jump on the bandwagon until someone comes up with the "dance sounds". Will be a nice addition to my other synths. Not sure yet, I already own 10 synths and drum machines and that MonoPoly is on my list. I think this video will give you many new Subscribers.

Yes it is a bit fiddly! Even the smallest movement on the pitch knob changes the tuning a lot! But when I avoid touching the knobs it stays pretty much in tune 😅
