Just got a new amp. It's the Behringer iNUKE NU3000. This is a Class D "Digital amp". Video is 1st test with two 18" sub woofers and Peavey PV215. So far my test results are good with this amp.

I own a new Behringer NX6000. It is "rated" for 3,000w x 2 @ 4-ohms. RMS (real) power is about 2,100w per channel. It will dim the lights at full tilt on household circuits...but, still a Class D. I am using it for my subwoofer cabinet...best amp I have ever used. And I am old.

I bought this amp in November after watching this review and firestorm record's, and man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used this bridged on two Peavey 18' LowRiders in a boxes tuned to 35hz, and this thing is RIDICULOUS chest pounding cant breathe properly bass. Just ordered another and hopefully will get couple NU6000s later on.

Cool Man!! I would get another one if mine were ever to down lol This amp is still rocking after 2yrs of use!!! If you hook em up correctly and not over drive it and treat it with care in a case and not store it outside in a shed or trailer then they will always perform lol most electronics shouldn't be kept out in a extreme hot or freezing trailer like some people do. Only military rated electronics can be stored in harsh environments and perform day in and out. Glad you like it :)

yeah, I have all my gear in road cases for the protection, but here in Barbados lowest it gets its 21deg C lol. I have the limiters in my Ultra Drive set to stop it from clipping, trying to save the speaks and amps from damage and spending unnecessarily.

@WorldsDeepestBass Thanks man!! You may want to go with the nu6000 but I think the nu3000 will push one 18" if its 4ohms in bridge mode just fine. You may want to look at the specs on both amps before you decide.

You are welcome. I know that lots of guys may not like this amp or some other Behringer amps and say it is over rated but when you think about it, it is not always about how much can it put out. Its how you hook up your gear, proper speaker placement etc. I know I will never push 2,000w or 3,000w to my 18"s subs because they will burn up. This amp is working great for my setup and has given me excellent results over the past 8 months. I have pushed this thing hard and it keeps going. Enjoy...

@EntertainmentEnzo So far so good. I don't know why people are having problems with this amp. I used it this past Saturday and pushed it hard with my two 18" subs for about 6hrs without any problems at all. Just all clean sound & no clipping. Pulls so little electricity to run. I don't know if people just don't know how to hook up PA gear or how to adjust audio for proper sound output. I have no complaints with this amp.

So far this amp is doing a great job. I have used it on just bout all of my gigs since Nov 2011 and it has never let me down. I know some don't like Behringer products but this thing is working excellent for what I use it for. Some say its over rated but I am not pushing it to the max...it gives me plenty of head room on my subs just fine. My Zumba gig I did with 600+ in a 25,000 sq foot room I ran this amp very hard & it pushed my folded horns hard for 4hrs non stop without any clipping.

Actually in the manual if i remember correctly, it sais that the amp draws from the mains 350W at 1/8 rated power with 2 ohms load (again, if i remember correctly). That means that at full blast, this amp draws a lot more power than 350W.

Yes you can use a crossover for your subs with this NU3000 amp. The EP2000 has two 1/4 inputs and 2 XLR inputs. On the EP2000 you can plug your audio input to the 2 XLR inputs and use the 1/4 inputs as a "loop out" to feed another amp. I have done this plenty of times and Berhinger tech support said the inputs on the EP2000 are all in parallel for running multiple amps.

That is a good question but according to Berhinger tech support when I called them about this too...this amp does not have "loop out" connections for this. I wanted to do the same with this amp but instead I will use a "Y" XLR cable. That way I can plug this amp on 1 set of XLRs and 1 another amp on the 2nd set of XLRs. Then you can run 2 NU3000s.

Just an update. I ran the NU3000 tonight for about 8hrs at a party on one 18" subwoofer that is 8ohms. It performed great with this 1 speaker at 8ohms!! No clipping at all...just all clean sound. No heat build up at all. Not even warm to the touch. Of course I ran it without over driving anything LOL!

Both amps will run the Peavey 215s without any problems. The Nu6000 will use less electricity and run quiet compared to the EP4000. But both amps will push the 215s with plenty of power to spare.

@kevinmcahill The amp which I am happy with running my subs now is the NU3000. The VLP1500 can't be bridged to run at 4 ohms, it can only be bridged and run at 8 ohms. I like running my subs in parallel which will give the amp a 4 ohm load. When I run my subs, I place them side by side so you can get the 3db of more sound from them. The VLP1500 is still a great amp and I still use it to run my PV215s.

Thanks for the support!! When I ran the 215s on this amp I just kept the amp in stereo mode and didn't bridge it and it still pumped the 215s hard. Each 215 is 4ohms and if you bridge the amp it will be in 4ohms on 1 channel but two 215s in parallel will be 2ohms on the amp and I didn't want to try the amp on 2ohms lol So I kept the amp in stereo.
@deejaybustab

@Kilmer1111 Yes at 2 ohms it puts out 1500w to both channels. At 4 ohms it puts out 880w to both channels and you can bridge it and get 3000w at 4 ohms all on 1 channel. Others are now saying this amp can also put out 440w at 8 ohms to both channels but I have not tried it at 8 ohms yet.

On the iNuke amps you plug your audio into Channel A and your output you use is Channel A. I had to call tech support when I 1st got this amp and ask them the same question. The tech told me they just didn't print this info in the instructions. But he also said that all Behringer amps including the old heavy amps it's always been ChA used. Hope this helps.

@SuperErin21 Yes you can connect both speakers to this amp in stereo (will give amp 8 ohm load) or parallel (will give amp 4 ohm load). You can blow your speakers if you don't manage your volume levels which goes for any amp. This amp should be able to drive 2 speakers @ 1000w each but I would hook them up in parallel if they are 4 ohms and bridge the amp to 4ohms with both speakers. That way the amp will put out more power to the set of speakers.

No prob about the questions cause that's how we all learn...It is very easy to set up the PV215s with the EP2000. Each speaker has a 1/4 jack on the back and as long as you have speaker cable that has 1/4 plugs on 1 end to plug to the speaker and the other end has banana plugs or speakon that can plug into the amp, you will be good to go.

The reason it's so light is because it doesn't have a transformer, it draws it's power from the transformer on the pole outside. Carver made one of these years ago.

I wish this amp had that option but it does not. To link this amp I have to use a "Y" XLR cable which comes out from my crossover or EQ. That way I can plug this amp on 1 set of XLRs and 1 another amp on the 2nd set of XLRs. Then you can run 2 amps from 1 input signal. I don't know why Behringer did not provide any loop out connections on this amp. But the Y XLR cable works fine for linking more than 1 amp.

For a question like that you may want to contact Behringer & ask tech support. All I know is that this amp is not in the same class as Pyle & the SMT components in this amp are totally different. From using this amp for over 1 year it has kicked my subs to death & on my Zumba gig all I got was complements on the bass from it. Even Recording Artist Dahrio Wonder couldn't believe how it put out since he works with big name brand amps while on tour with Gina & Tonya for all Zumba shows.

@mikosuave808 I looked at a photo of the speakers you have and it should not matter what XLR plug you use on the speaker. The speaker has 2 1/4 jacks and 2 XLR jacks. You can use either 1/4 jacks or XLR jacks to plug up to. You only need 1 XLR plug on the speaker. The other plug can be used for parallel hookup to another speaker. With parallel hookup you will only need 1 speaker cable to the amp because both 8ohm speakers will drop down to one 4ohm load for the amp.

@jwolfmanc32 No prob man...Yeah this amp kicks out and is still hard to believe it is only 7 pounds! Makes you think its a DVD player or something when you go to pick it up LOL 1 note...At 2 ohms it draws 350w of electricity and at 4 ohms it only draws 170w of electricity. In the vid I said 300w at 4 ohms but at 4 ohms it is way less power draw. You could plug 2 or 3 in 1 circuit and still be way under 1,500w of electricity.

To add to MiDnYTe25 Class D amps operate in binary which is digital language of 1s and 0s either on or off & no in between like the older amps that have current hungry transistors that stay on 100% of the time which draw so much current that they have to have big transformers, voltage regulators, heat sinks, huge copper inductance coils etc. Class D amps use switching power supplies like what you will find in your desktop PCs. No need for the huge power supply circuit to drive the amp.

@nezff No not at all. The fan is very quiet compared to my EP2000. Now a few times I did crank the NU3000 hard on my 18" subs and the fan did rev up louder but it only spun up faster only when the bass hit and continued to hit for like 10 seconds non stop. But once the bass was lower or in between heavy bass notes, it spun down. Now this only happened when I pushed it VERY HARD to the point when my photos came down from my walls.

Just a few little things. The amp HAS to draw as many watts from the mains as it does provide to the speakers - Basic physics. It is however more efficient. The EP2000 may be around 60-70% efficient where as these should be 90% ish. Also behringer do rate this for 8ohm. Its 440w RMS x 2 (peak power means nothing) always use RMS. Ideally you want twice the rms amps of the rms on the speakers. Not sure what the issue with fans is, but at any gig I do you wont hear fans!

@mikosuave808 With 1 or 2 8ohm speakers you can just plug them in with the normal stereo diagram which is in the amps documentation. If you have 2 8ohm speakers and you want to bridge the amp to 4ohms, you will need to hook both speakers up in parallel and the amp will see a 4ohm load. Then just plug 1 speaker cable from the speakers to the amps bridged output plug.
@deejaybustab
@deejaybustab 12 жыл бұрын
@SuperErin21 You may want to have 2 amps to run all 4 speakers. 2 speakers hooked up in parallel on 1 amp bridged to 4 ohms and the other amp do the same. As far for your mixer output...you can just run L and R outputs of the mixer to both inputs of the amp.

@SuperErin21 With 4 speakers at 500w each and each is 8 ohm, if you were to hook all 4 up..ch1 with 2 speakers in parallel and ch2 with 2 speakers in parallel then that will give both channels on the amp a 4 ohm load. The amp will only put out 880w x 2 in stereo 4 ohm which I think is still less power than what you may need to drive all 4 speakers at once with only 1 amp. It may work but if you drive it hard it may not sound good.
@deejaybustab

You will need to get a RCA to 1/4 connector or RCA to XLR. The RCA side connects to your Mixtrack and the 1/4 or XLR connect to the amp's side. But I would say to plug the mixtrak to a crossover or EQ then the crossover or EQ will plug to the amp. That way you can adjust your sound (Bass, mids, highs).
@chas99950

and if it is not sucking it from your supply I would suggest it is not delivering it either to bench test it would prove this fact. Labgruppen use a system to limit current draw which in turn limits output but allows transient performance for a significant time period which is more "real world" in practice as music waveforms are not constants ie why many devices are rated "Program" as that is the nature of the signal. a device with FTC or EIA spec is indicative of how it will perform.

My PV215 speakers I run them with the American Audio VLP1500 or sometimes I use my Berhinger EP2000. The PV215s do not have a lot of deep bass so I just use them as my tops for all mids and highs. I always run them with my two 18" subs to give me the bottom end bass. If you run the PV215s I would recommend you run a set of subs with them.
@deejaybustab

@pungeyman Well if you have two 8 ohm speakers like two 8 ohm subwoofers you can hook both speakers up in parallel and bridge the amp for 4 ohms and you will be good. That's how I have both of my 8 ohm subwoofers on this amp. But if you only have one 8 ohm speaker than I will use the ep2000 or another amp that can run at 8 ohms.

All the power ratings on the inuke are peak ratings and not RMS. A member on DIYAUDIO forum did an RMS power test and came up with these results: 300Wrms per 8ohm channel 600Wrms per 4ohm channel 1000Wrms per 2ohm channel 2000Wrms 4ohm bridged Still they are good given the price and weight. Also it should be noted that the power outputs are cut nearly in half again after a steady 10 second RMS test (or sinewave) but since real music is not a steady sinewave, it should be fine :)

Sorry dude but Class D does not mean it's a digital amp. Class D is the way the amp operates. It is a energy efficient amp as related to the push-pull operation. One half of the output completely turns off while the other is conducting and vice versa. It is an analog power amp.

I think you will be fine. As long as you get your PV215 speakers up a bit so they are not sitting on the floor...that way the sound from your tops will travel further in the room. If you sit the PV215s on the floor all of your sound will not travel because it will just go straight to the floor.

I can recommend some good hearing aids which you are definitely going to need later in life if you regularly listen to sound at those levels. It never ceases to amaze me the abuse people subject their ears to in their youth without a thought of the consequences. It's not even a matter of IF... those levels WILL cause deafness and/or horrible ringing that never stops. It kicks in when you are about 45 to 50 years old and gets progressively worse.

I read that same test result back in Oct 2011 just before I got this amp in Nov 2011. I agree with you..the price point and weight makes it a good purchase. Plus it really pushes my front firing 18 subs and my folded horn 18s very well. The past 7months this amp has given me excellent results. When I did my Zumba gig, the recording artist Dahrio Wonder said to me "man I go from state to state around the country and your bass is hittn hard & clean" that made me feel good about this amp :)

@Kilmer1111 It depends on what you want to push with it. I would go with the nu3000 but the only thing I wish this amp had was the ability to run at 8 ohms. It only runs at 4 or 2 ohms according to the documentation. But it kicks hard and uses so little power to run. Most if not all new amps will be going to "class D" which are the new digital amps. The ep2000 is still a great amp but I like the lighter and less power requirements of the nu3000.

Ive had the inuke3000, the inuke6000 and the inuke6000DSP, the inuke3000 is not the most powerful amplifier you could have to set up a full range sound, because its power; its real power at 4ohms is 550watts see the owners manual! BUT!! Sounds greater than other amplifier is a specialy lightweight i could say the lightest amplifier Ive had, I dont recomend you: use for full range sound because the result is like to have a RMX1450 power amplifier EVEN THOUGH better quality, better highs and bass response, I recomend you: use for pA bi Amped sound in highs, the best amplifier you could have for highs, amezing quality for your highs and high powerful for your highs because the inuke3000 is a Class D amplifier with lot of SMD components and ATR (accelerate transient response) use high speed power discharge and it is what highs need Now my xperience in the inuke6000, the real power at 8ohms is 1100watts and 2200watts at 4ohms per channel, I only use RCF subwoofers of 1000watts each one, and this amplifier has a amazing power for subwoofers, (and also for my subs) the sound is great, has a solid bass and this amplifier never get hot does not matter how much you exceed the amplifier still cold the whole activity (working about 4 or 7 hours), do not need too much electricity you could use 2 of this nu6000 at complete charge with a 2500watts power plant without problems. To finish, use the inuke3000 in briged mode is the same to have one channel of the inuke6000... good look I recomended to you both amplifiers, Im trying to get the new Inuke12000 with Dsp, I have four of this nu6000 lightweight amplifiers..

Behringer is as good as any other budget brand. The power ratings quoted are misleading as they are Peak power. The RMS power value is what is important. I still find that class D amps still have a way to come as they can still be a bit hesitant in responding to sudden upward changes in audio level.

@saxmaniacify if you were to hook all 4 up..ch1 with 2 speakers and ch2 with 2 speakers then that will give both channels on the amp a 4 ohm load. Nice presentation. I'm picking up a couple of these soon as replacements for blown conventional amps so these videos are helping to convince me... I will be using one of them to power up a pair of JBL M series speakers, 1x15 600watt driver. I was using a 500 watt per side amp which wasn't doing the job at all so hoping this will drive them harder. My only concern is that they look a little Hi-Fi stylie but they will be flight cased before they hit the road so shouldn't be too much of a prob.

@nezff I just did a small test to see how loud the fan is at normal use. From what I can tell, it is about a tad bit louder than my PS3 fan. Now the PS3 fan noise I am talking about is when you play a game or watch a movie on the PS3...not when your PS3 revs up loud but the normal PS3 fan speed. So from looking at your home theater setup on your page, you may not even notice the NU3000 fan noise under normal use.

They both are good amps but In my opinion I would go with the EP2000 as this amp can run in 8 or 4 and even 2 ohms bridged. The VLP1500 can only be bridged in 8 ohms. You will have more options with the EP2000 and for the price, this amp hits hard!!

The PV215s are very good for mids and highs but the deep bass they do lack. They do produce a punchy bass but for the deep bass you will need a sub. I like my 215s because they are very loud for the mid-range and highs. I always run a sub whenever I use my 215s but yes the 215s are very loud.

@DannyFreeplay I have never used the internal crossover on this amp. I keep the amp on Full Range and always use the crossover on my EQ for my subs so I can adjust mid bass and low end bass. Then the amp will just amplify what my EQ puts out. If you switch the amp's crossover switch to low pass then you will just get all low end on the output I didn't read the info on the amp to know what frequency it will crossover at.

@deejaybustab Hi! I just buy a nu6000 and the power specifications are a bit lower then that. Its 1100w ch at 8 ohms (RMS) & 2200w at 4 ohms (RMS)... nothing about paralelle or bridged is specified. but i gotta say that the fan suck all the dust inside so think about adding some kind ov filter on the back.

@Codee Bedout I can't reply like normal & it may be from this new google+ thing But to answer your question...If both of your speakers that you want to hook up to the nu3000 are 8 ohms each then you can just bridge the amp & hook both speakers up in parallel & then connect them to the amp. The amp will see them as 1 big 4ohm speaker and you should be good to go.

@MrSonidofaraon I can't really tell you which one is better for 8 ohm performance but I can give you the specs: VLP-1500 = 500w rms @ 8 ohm stereo and 1,500w rms @ 8 ohm bridge. EP2000 = 350w rms @ 8 ohm stereo and 1,000w rms @ 8 ohm bridge. From the specs the VLP-1500 will put out more at 8 ohms in stereo and in bridge mode. But the VLP-1500 can't be bridged to 4 ohms and the EP2000 can be bridged down to 4 ohms.

It will be good to run either your 15s or just your subs but if you are trying to run 3 speakers on 1 amp then you may want to get the NU6000.

You know I never really tested the built in crossover to see how it really sounds on low freq or high freq. I have always used an external crossover just because you can adjust things on the fly. I may have to test it out and see how it sounds. I would still say to get an external crossover just because you can adjust more things like freq cutoff and db gains. The internal may just have 1 freq where it cuts off for bass and the same for highs..

@bronxman84 It all depends on what size the event is. So far I have used my older Peavey SP2G speakers, My Peavey PV215 speakers and I have also used my two 18" subwoofers. You can use any kind of speakers you prefer as long as the speakers are connected correctly to the amp for stereo or bridge mode.

This amp can run the 15s but I would run it in bridged mode. If you are looking into getting a different amp I would get something that is more than 800w max per channel. Send me a PM to my inbox if you need help choosing a amp.

I am also interested in the comparison to the VLP 1500. I see the specifications, but the question is which amp are you happy with to run the subs. I think the VLP1500 has loud fans and if the iNuke is cooler, quieter and sounds as good then I would go that way. Thanks!

@ramgunz103 That may work but I have never tired that with this amp. The guy you need to talk to is FireStormRecords on youtube. He uses his NU3000 with 4 speakers all at once (I think) and has no issues. Hit him up with an email or question on his NU3000 video review. He's a cool guy who always answered my questions about this amp.

Who wouldnt like some nice words :) btw I've decided I'm getting one of these as well to power four 15" subwoofers for my home theater (two per 14cf vented cabinet tuned to 18Hz) This will give me usable bass that is nearly flat from 80Hz down to 14Hz thanks go room gain! I dont need all the sound pressure, but what I'm after is extremely clean effortless deep bass. I want to feel the air shudder at frequencies below audible :) I get some of that now with my four 12" but I want more ;)

Hello and thanks for the video, I have a question about the built in crossover. have you tested just the crossover? I see you can do one side for tops and the other side for subs. I was just wondering how much does the built in crossover filter out or would there be need for a external crossover if i was to purchase @ of this amps. Thanks

Thanks for your reviews, i have seen lots of them, the gobo projector, the PV215 speaker stands hack, the power supply, and i liked them a lot, please let me know if you have hooked up your PV215 one each chanel so it kicks them at 4 ohms in stereo? it´s supposed to be 880 watts and the Peaveys are 700 program 1400 Peak so it theoretically should drive them OK, the reason for my quesion is hat i just heard the PV215 driven by a QSC RMX1450a which is just about the same specs and they blew me away.

@deejaybustab I connected the Lf & RT balanced output to the CH B & CH A input of the INUKE3000. from the amp, I connected the output CH A & B to the speaker ( Behringer 212XL) I connected that XLR to the bottom left of the speaker since there are 4 connections I can use but with the XLR connector, there are only 2 I can plug in. Does it matter where I plug it in? I was reading the manual and it said that if I wanted to connect another speaker I can use that right XLR as output.

First of all. great reviews. I have a pair of SP2G's and am thinking about buying a NU3000 to power them. Have you powered your SP2G's with the NU3000....what are your thoughts? If you did, did you go one speaker per channel, bridged,etc? Any info would be great.Thanks

folded horns are much more efficient. 100 watts into a well designed horn is about equal to 400 in a front-firing cab.

you miss my point completely you referred to the lack of voltage drop you usually experience with other devices. ley clarify for an amp to deliver 1000wattseither continuously or or peak it must draw or have an input power that corresponds to that relative to its efficiency whatever that factor is. for arguements sake lets call that 100% so to output 1000w it will require 1000w so your iniuke will will require in real terms slightly more power than it puts out the energy must come from somewhere

@7mrawesome Basically your amp has 2 amplifiers inside of it. You can combine both amplifiers in your amp to make 1 big amp to push a big speaker or speakers. Check out Briansredd's channel. He has a video named "Hey Brian - What's Bridge Mono?" that may help explain this. He also has more vids on how to hook up amps for bridge mode.

@7mrawesome So far I have not had the clip light come on because I haven't pushed my speakers to the point where they will clip. I do push the amp hard but I just know how hard I can push the speakers before you get distortion or to the point where you may clip or blow them. I don't know of any protection for your speakers I just know how much I can push them without causing problems.

@deejaybustab Thank you so much for your reply I want to find out one last thing, More likely I will be in a situation with 4 speakers 500 watt each 8 ohms, How will I connect when then there are 2 outputs, Should I connect 2 others from speaker to speaker?? Is this connection in parallel and I got 4 ohms total resistance per channel, There are also 2 channel input should there come from my mixer left to one channel input and right to other channel input?

Hey DeeJaybustab I'm looking into purchasing Nu3000. And I was wondering when you bridge it is there a certain channel your supposed to plug into. Because I have been reading up on the Behringer website and the they don't show the bridging setup. I want to run a pair of subs on it.
