these pedals are great (real analogue bucket brigade chip) and are good for modding too. you can put a momentary spst stomp switch across pins 2 and 3 of the intensity pot for infinite repeats controlled by your foot. also one of the internal trimmers lets you adjust the repeat rate range to get a longer delay time

I use this pedal with my keyboards in order to create weird and interesting noises. I originally bought the pedal hoping to get some great delay effects but was unsatisfied, I then tracked down the discontinued Behringer Digital delay pedal and with it I got the delay effects I was looking for. However the vintage delay is a great pedal to experiment with, hook it up to a keyboard and you can create some interesting stuff with it. Airplane flyby sounds, Repeating Alarm Sounds, HVAC droning sounds, you can create all of this and more with the Behringer Vintage Delay.

I play both bass and 6-string. I love Behringer pedals. I own six of them, SC400 Compressor/Sustainer, NR300 Noise Reduction, OD300 Overdrive/Distortion, VD400 Vintage Delay, VP1 Vintage Phaser, HB01 Hellbabe Wah. I have several amps, but use these primarily on my Vox AC15 and Orange Micro Terror (12" custom closed cab). The Behringer pedals may be cheap, but seriously, don't be taken back by that. They just sound great. And my AC15 loves them. My favorite is the Vintage Phaser. It just sounds so good. Thanks for this demo. You did it justice as your other vids do. Great share.

No seriously;, he's right ! I just picked up one "new to me" ( without any instructions , but the downloaded manual was also unclear). And the " Rate " knob is totally counter intuitive .. "Minimum " is actually maximum delay , and vise versa . Trying for close to slap back , but just wasn't happening . Thanks to you , I now have viable starting points .

Just purchased this pedal from Sweetwater for $25. Does anyone have a suggestion for the settings to get an authentic slap-back rockabilly tone? thanks.
@EricMerrow28 күн бұрын
I would suggest turn the feedback all the way down to where you only get a single repeat and turn the delay time to the fastest setting. Then you can incrementally start to make the delay time a bit longer until you get just the right slapback
@silly_alien159612 сағат бұрын
Do you know why even when i turn on the pedal when the light is on it adds no effect even when all the nobs are at the top?
@EricMerrow9 сағат бұрын
My guess is that you might have accidentally plugged into the direct out. Make sure you’re plugging the “out” instead of the “dir out” to your next pedal

Howdy from North Carolina I'm 21 years old and my favorite guitar player is Luther Perkins Johnny Cash's original guitar player what does pedal be good for replicating that tone
@EricMerrow27 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting! I think the best use for that old-style country sound would be a slapback delay. So you'd want to set the repeat to minimum where you're only getting a single echo. Then turn the delay speed to a quicker setting so you have a quicker delay that kind of follows what you're playing.
@konjunto24772 жыл бұрын
So for a Rockabilly Slap Back sound I should focus on the Intensity knob?
@EricMerrow2 жыл бұрын
If you’re going for that rockabilly slap sound, you’ll want to dial the feedback (intensity)down to the point where you have a single repeat. Then you can use the rate knob to tune the speed of the slap. Hope this helps!

Hi Eric, many thanks for this video, I'm playing around with this now. Do you have any info for the layman on the 2 different outputs? I'm a pedalboard noob, many thanks!
@EricMerrow7 ай бұрын
Great question! The Direct out sends and uneffected signal out of the pedal. You can use it to run to a separate amp or just split your signal. The main out is the one that the delay is applied to

I love the sound of it. But, doesn't ir get too short wirh the longest possible delay time? Should it be possible to get a longer delay, or is this ok? Thanks, greetings!
@EricMerrow Жыл бұрын
With analog delays there’s a limitation of delay time - usually at the cost of noise. So the longer the delay time, generally, the more noise there is. If you’re looking for a longer delay time, I’d suggest looking at a digital delay that is voiced to sound like a darker analog delay 👍👍
@ElFerna182 Жыл бұрын

May I ask you something else? I hope its not abusive. I read it is not true bypass. Is that so? If it is, does it affect a lot the tone of the guitar when the pedal is switched off? Im thinking of buying this one or the reecho delay from mooer. Thanks again, hope im not bothering you.

04/25/2023: I bought this pedal, but if I turn off Eco, which sounds like Reverb to me, then the pedal goes 100% silent. Can the pedal be adjusted without Eco and use my own Reverb pedal?
@EricMerrow Жыл бұрын
If I understand correctly, the pedal works when it’s on but is silent when you turn it off? My initial thinking is that it may be the power. What sort of power are you using? If it’s a battery, you might need to change it. As for the effect sounding more like a reverb - the pedal is an analog delay so it’s going to be a darker sounding delay but also it doesn’t have a ton of delay time so you’ll lean more toward slapback type sound. I hope this helps!
@georgetwine22612 жыл бұрын
hey man, i bought this pedal but found it cant give me repeats slow enough for my liking, do you know any way i could help either this?
@EricMerrow2 жыл бұрын
If you’re looking for longer delay times, you’ll probably want to look into a delay that is digital. In the analog delay world (the vd400 is an analog delay) the delay times are capped at a specific limit because pushing past that limit will introduce a bunch of noise and unwanted artifacts. Digital delays are much less limited in this aspect so you’ll find longer delay times. I would recommend checking if Behringer has a digital delay or maybe check into another brand like sonicake to see if they have affordable delays 👍👍👍
@MJPGuitar Жыл бұрын
Highly recommend getting a digital delay from the JHS 3 series or Fender Hammertone series.
