This video demonstrates one of the most unusual features on the Wave. The envelopes are kind of quirky and behave differently than on most other synthesizers. Nevertheless, I think it's really fun and useful. Effects used: NI Replika NI Raum Logic Compressor Waves L2

With modifiers you can make them be used in a normal way or even more casually than they come out of the box. The most important part of the PPG is its modifier, when you use more than one sound layer.

welcome to the weird world of the PPG Wave - I own and have owned several over the years and this is one aspect of the Waves that's the hardest to replicate on even Waldorf synths. Highly unusual - I remember being rather confused and amazed when I first encountered this behavior upon the purchase of the 2.2.
@tomnoise2315 күн бұрын
Yeah, such a simple Idea but highly useful.
@inperfectsequence78409 күн бұрын
With the Waldorf Blofeld, you can do the same PPG envelopes, using its 4 modifiers.. In the PPG the modifier is also another extra to twist things further, like the behavior of the LFO, filter, envelope, sweep modes.

again many thanks to another insightful demonstration. These envelopes have a really short attack, which we appreciate in the PPG wave synthesisers. The slow attack and long release was something I only rarely used with the PPG wave 2.2, and it appears that the Behringer wave can do it as well. Very good demonstration, tom noise. Also, very good handling of the filter resonance. The right amount at the right time.

Yeah the character of the synth is quite different to say something like the wavetable synth in Iridium... quite buzzy and organic.... absolutely lovely... how is the key action on this thing?

Beautiful ! I'm getting one . But I notice the clicking sounds at the start of the video and have heard this in other videos ... does it get annoying dealing with these ?
@tomnoise2317 күн бұрын
@@centrodelarosa7122 I would consider it as part of the sound character. This synth is quite different in many ways. Yes, it clicks at very fast envelope times if the waveform doesn’t have many harmonics.
@centrodelarosa712217 күн бұрын
@tomnoise23 different is good in my opinion . I'm fairly new to the synth world but for my ears it seems to have exceptional sound quality compared to alot of other synths ive heard , including synths in the higher price bracket . But that's just personal taste perhaps . Please make more videos , if you will .

Another great appetizer for the Behringer Wave. With any luck mine will arrive at the end of the week or so. I am really enjoying the videos you have made about the Wave. I’m particularly interested in how slow things can go as I like long droning type sounds. Does the LFO get to really low and slow rates? I’m hoping that by using multies in the Wave I can modulate individual voices to get MPE type functionality. Thanks for making the videos.

Nice, end of the week?? Where did you order from?! Sweetwater acting like expect it end of the summer lol
@tomnoise2317 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment and congrats on your purchase! 1. The LFO has a range from about 0,2 Hz to 12 Hz. So it's neither superslow nor very fast. For very slow movements, for instance, you could use external modulation with Midi CC and use modulators from e.g. a DAW. That's what I did here. 2. There is no 8part multimode. The Wave can be bi-timbral (Groups A and B).

seriously, sweetwater says preorder and it may show up in may. i had to wait 6 months for the vs mini and i just have resigned myself to not get excited about any new behringer until they have been around for a year and a software rev. i see the ub xa modules are finally in stock. I quit playing the behringer hype game because it bums me out. korg is almost as bad. roland and yamaha are far more professional about this
