Holy... im only here because my coach told me that my current footwork and style of fencing reminded him of Lopez and he wanted me to watch this and observe his footwork, techniques and strategies but i had NO IDEA fencing sabre last time was a lot DIFFERENT from now... shows that even with fencing's current problems the sport still advanced 😮

correct. the director thought he saw lopez go off the end of the strip. lopez did go off the end of the strip, but for some reason you cant see that for sure on the side replay so they just restarted the touch at the end

That sucks! From time to time I like looking back at these just to see how different the game was back then. My son is fencing now and I was explaining to him who the best coach in the world is and obviuosly this bout came up. We wanted to watch it but couldn't see it all. There should be a way to get these back up so these bouts are not lost for future generations of fencers who want to learn.
