We are in the US where you can only see the crap edited version of the Beijing Olympic Games. I watched NBC's version of the Closing Ceremony first then my friend forwarded me a link that is the full version of the Closing Ceremony. I was so mad about NBC. It cut-off so much of the important footages of the Closing ceremony. No parts that showed the faces of athletes with emotion and having good-time feel. No part that shows video that recaptures highlights of the Games. No part that shows the award and thanks to the volunteers. No part that shows how people appreciate and admired the Olympic venues, Olympic village, services, safety procedures and protocol took place, tireless work and help offered by the volunteers including bus drivers, translators, security and health check, performers, etc. NBC along with the US government have no respect to China and Chinese people. They are so mean and so control freak who only knows how to keep its superiority and world domination position at the expenses, misery, and suffering of others, including China and Chinese people.

If you were impressed with the fireworks in both the opening and closing ceremonies, then just remember they only used 1/10th the amount of the fireworks they used in the 2008 Beijing Summer Games as these were the "green" and "sustainable" games !

So awesome to see and hear how things are going “backstage”. I was watching via streaming and one of the commentators was saying at the closing ceremony the athletes were having so much fun dancing, that the organizers took an extra 20 minutes to get everyone seated. Lately it just feels like doom and gloom in the world, so it’s great to see joyful things!☺️

Thank you for your viewpoint regarding the Beijing Winter Olympics. As of today the news media, broadcasters, and politicians are still making claim that this was the WORST Olympics of all time. They have published comments stating that foreign athletes were filled with complaints from the lodging and foods to the closed loop protocols. I’ve viewed numerous athlete’s blogs and interviews by various coaches and representatives which were ALL very positive and enjoyable. What a disparity of views.

I was a volunteer at the 2000 Sydney Olympics acting as liason officer for team China (400+). Yes we had to have early dinner 4:30 pm before the opening ceremony like you said. Teams lined up to take the bus to the venue and waited for couple of hours. No snacks that time. After the opening ceremony most of the athletes didn't want to queue up for buses and walked with us volunteers leading the way. You know what? Without exception everyone rushed to the dining room, and me too. The Sydney dining room was not a 24 hours service but I guess the organisers knew they had to open after ceremony. I agree with you watching the ceremony on TV is better than on site except for the atmosphere which you missed because of Covid with limited spectators. TV cameras show you the best part at the right moment and if the commentators make good use of the script given to them you can follow the show which tells you stories. There as a spectator your eyes may be wandering to less interesting spots as you see actors / people coming out from everywhere.

"Beijing 2022 Olympic Ceremony - What you don’t see on TV!" A lot of Americans jumped at the chance to click at this video when they saw the title of that headline thinking they were going to see some anti-China propaganda until, of course, they viewed the video and realized it is a non-political video made by a real Olympian that simply wants to make a video about his experiences at the Beijing Olympics! Once they have watched the video; however, they were all disappointed like hell! Sort of like an American reporter asking someone a few questions about his experience of living in China and that person has nothing but positive things to say about China and the reporter ends up constantly trying to veer the guy into saying something negative about China, but the guy isn't falling for it.
