Exactly. I get so many Russians saying the restore is unfair, but has they even had one of them skate with Valieca,they stayed Gold. There was no rule in this team event that one athlete disqualifies the whole team in the team event even though it should’ve been there
@mht49083 ай бұрын
They would've still lost by 1 point even if Sasha did the free (ROC originally had 74 shorts and the US had 65, so taking away Kamila's 10 points would mean the ROC is left with 64). The Russian team made a huge mistake by putting Kamila in the team event for both sections, it takes a lot of energy from the athlete, and considering she was the heavy favorite to win, why didn't they conserve her energy for singles? They only used 6 people when the other teams used 9, this would've conserved the energy especially for singles skaters. They could've let Anya do the short, and Sasha the free. That way (assuming the doping never happened), all 3 girls would leave as Olympic champions. Isn't that the point for all nations? To come home with as many Olympic champions as possible?

For the people whod id not follow this closely - the Russian team had the same head coach to all skaters, i.e., the same woman who asked Valieva why she stopped trying while the latter was crying immediately after her FP blunder. Anyway, in the team's competition, they did not swap Valieva for Trusova, so Valieva initially got a gold medal. Her mentor did not provide her with the creative training to channel her passion and determination onto the ice. She encouraged her fixation on quads because she was the best at it.
