The judges didn’t even give her the world record in points. She was below it. It must have been so hard for her. On the other hand she lost because she’s stubborn. If she didn’t perform the triple axel she would have won. And her skating wasn’t clean. It’s hard but in the end still kinda fair.

Quads don't guarantee a win, Sasha hasn't won a single major competition in her entire career, her biggest issue was artistry and she has been criticized for it, but never fixed it. Anna also has quad jumps, she has never finished below a silver in her enire senior career as well. Another example is Aliona K. who despite not having a quad, but just a 3A has beaten both Sasha and Anna because of her beautiful skating. As for the Olympics. In the short program: Anna was at 1st place with 80.20 points. Sasha was ar 3rd place with 74. 60 - she fell on her 3A. The free program. Sasha was at 1st place with 177.13 Anna was in 2nd place wirh 175. 75 Sasha won the free, but she also wasn't skating cleanly - bad ladings, step outs., so she didn't get the maximum points she would have hoped to get. Anna on the other hand, skated cleanly and also jumped quads.

Sasha was mainly angry at Eteri on why she was not allowed in the team tournament, she would have had gold easily. Eteri's big mistake here as she and the team knew of Kamila situation, and yet she pushed Kamila on to compete leaving 2 available ladies ready on the side in the teams tournament. other than also the lack social skill on the team management and Eteri herself, this meltdown of Sasha which was a normal teenager thing, should not have gotten out in public. Anna is the real boss and sublime rightfully on merit in the midst of this whole debacle. They both performed the best they could and they're Olympic champions on top of the best of the world, Gold and Silver.

Полностью согласна, Саша сотворила историю на тех Играх. И этот нервный срыв вполне понятен, тем более, что Саша пыталась от камер уйти, но ее продолжали снимать. Sasha lost the gold - by just 4 points to Anna , and despite her landing 4 QUADS ( and just “ stepping out” on one) in the FS ( which NO other female skater had ever accomplished in competition) - she lost the gold to Anna - because she was 6th(!) in the SP ( Sasha just couldn’t land those 3As in the SP ) . Now, if Sasha had gone for 2 x 2As instead in the SP - which she could easily land , she would have got the 🥇. Just do the ( quite simple) arithmetic …I would have had that terrible 😂 as well if I had lost the 🥇like Sasha did , but the Olympics are brutal : you have to be utterly calculating and focused, have a very dispassionate , focused and calibrated game plan - and then go for broke ! 🎉

Would be easy to blame couching. But there's an interview when she had only 13 she was only a girl doing ice skating for fun and being very good with it, in the interview she said her dream was to be trained by Eteri and go to the Olympics and her goal was "to be the 1st because only losers accept lower positions". In other words she was her own 'Abusive coach' since the beginning.

Maybe my opinion is controversial but I think that underage people shouldn't be in Olympic competitions because of the possible damage to their bodies and mental state that they can't really consent to (I say this as someone who did gymnastics and our trainer used to forcibly stretch us and I heard a story of a girl who got some of her muscles and nerves ripped that way which lead to her not being able to walk properly for her whole life)

Horrible behaviour but she's a young teenager in an impossible sport being with abusive coaching staff treating their girls like robots. She's been influenced to believe that winning gold is the only way to happiness and she doesn't have the life experience yet to teach her that her worth is so much more. Thus, this mental breakdown is the result. Is it an unsportsman like moment? Yes. Is it a human moment? Yes. Hopefully she was able to re-frame things mentally after this to move forward with positivity.

It’s commonly known that those who compete in the team event (especially in both the short and free skate) tend to not do as well in the singles event. Look at Yulia Lipnitskaya, Kamila and Karen Chen. They all did well in the team and blew it in singles. They should’ve put in 2 girls

Во время командного соревнования запад всё еще скрывал декабрьские пробы Камилы (Да, я абсолютно уверена, что пробы были готовы в 14-дневный или 21-дневный срок, как это было положено по протоколу, но если бы о них сообщили своевременно, - Камилу бы просто заменили на Олимпиаде другой сильной спортсменкой из России, и Россия всё также завоевала бы весь женский подиум, а также золото в командном зачете. Но Западу это было невыгодно, они не умеют играть честно). Так вот, все ставки были, что Камила станет Олимпийской чемпионкой. И поклонники фигурного катания считали справедливым поставить и Аню, и Сашу, в командные соревнования. Тогда все наши спортсменки были бы с золотыми медалями - у Камилы в личном зачете, у девочек - в командном. Если бы федерация тогда поступила именно так, - это бы могло решить много проблем.

If the judges were actually fair Sasha wouldn't have even podiumed nor would have Anna. How did Sasha end up in 4th place after falling on her triple axel in her free skate while Wakaba who should have won, had the cleanest short and was heavily under-scored for her CLEAN triple. Judges gave her under rotations for jumps that were fully rotated and deprived her of multiple PCS. The judges always favor Russians and it's ironic how you guys only claim that the judges are rigged when your favs don't win.

Какое мерзкое поведение. Не люблю эту спортсменку. Невоспитанная, избалованная, тщеславная, завистливая девица. Нужно было слушаться тренера и уделять внимание короткой программе, чтоб не проигрывать.. Вечно она падает на акселе. И пять ее квадов в произвольной программе нельзя ставить на один уровень с выступлением Анны Щербаковой, которая безукоризненно откатала обе программы, продумав все прыжки, вращения, дорожки. Трусова категорически не может похвалиться артистизмом, пластикой. На ее выступления неинтересно смотреть. Она занимается акробатикой на льду, а не фигурным катанием.
