They did when Chinese restaurants became too popular. They made up a medical paper of ''Chinese Restaurant Syndrome'' (or MSG) being harmful, claiming a mysterious American chinese doctor called Robert Ho Man Kwok wrote it. It gave Chinese restaurants a bad rap. Strangely Dr Man was never personally interviewed, nobody ever took a picture him who caused all this controversy over Chinese food. You can search up "'Strange Case of Dr. Ho Man Kwok'' and read about it. MSG btw is just a chemical compound that naturally occurs in many foods including cheese, mushrooms, seafood, juice, tomatoes and anchovies etc. It isn't harmful for the body certainly less harmful than salt. If you are allergic to MSG then you should be allergic to many many types of natural foods including processed food with MSG(E621) in it.

If China EXPORTED these vehicles to the USA, they would be subject to a 27.5% tariff, so BYD had started investigating production in Mexico to take advantage of the USMCA agreement. The US has made it very clear that should BYD do so, they will ignore the USMCA agreement and ban these vehicles from being sold in the USA. This is the American way of playing by the "rules based global order".

This is disappointing coverage by Al Jazeera; I expect better. BYD surpassed Tesla in EV sales in 2022. In a single quarter in 2023 it surpassed Tesla in BEV sales, although it is highly likely that it will pass Tesla in BEV sales in 2024. Also, China does not have a slowing economy; its economy continues to grow and to outgrow the global average GDP growth and this includes IMF forecasts for 2024. If you don't know what you're talking about please don't make it up, do the research!

BYD beat Tesla last quarter in Pures but Tesla came back this quarter to take the crown in Pures, it's going to be a tight race this year in Pures but Nev BYD is at the top.

The US and western Europe have less than half the population of China between them. The world is 8 billion people.
