Watching sprinters always amazes me. I don't know enough about the sport to even use the correct phrases to describe it....but their body mechanics is just phenomenal!!! It's like their heels never touch the ground...they're running at speeds that seem impossible to me for human beings to achieve and they make it look effortless!!!
@Radagast-4 ай бұрын
You're supposed to negative foot strike (your foot is going backwards as it hits the ground - like a skateboarder). This creates forward momentum. Your foot should strike almost flatfooted beneath your hip. It's quite technical and because they're all doing the same drills, their running styles are quite similar.

Is it just me, or did Angelo Taylor (2nd leg) pretty much run the entire back straight away in like lane 4? It seemed he could have cut in to lane 1 much earlier. It could also be the angle of the camera too. Start watching around 5:09 and see what I mean.
@jaykim99695 жыл бұрын
in my point of view, he did cut in and run the curve on lane 1. the first curve ends at 5:13 where the blue suit guys are at. then he smoothly cuts in till the second curve (I think the curve starts at 5:23).

@@jaykim9969 yeah it might have just been how I was looking at it
@truth85085 жыл бұрын
Taylor ran the cut-over perfectly. You should never cut in early from the outside lanes because that adds to the overall distance run. Basic geometry. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. He's supposed to run a straight line from his lane directly to lane 1 as it starts at the corner. In other 4x4's I've seen immediate cut-overs and it shows a lack of coaching or understanding of distance.
