Being a mom, I always try to do it all for my son, but this time I feel like giving up...

I too know how to cook several dishes my family loves, but I will never eat them. Just to name a few: biscuits, chicken, eggs, sweet potato pie. Like Rose, I cook them to show my love to my family members because they love these dishes. Blessings.

Rose, I really feel for you having to make stinky tofu!! My older sister decided she wanted to make sauerkraut! The smell during fermentation process was enough to put me off of sauerkraut for the next 50 years! True story. You’re a good Mom!!

Oh Rose……I went to hot pot last month with my son, when he was visiting. He ordered the stinky tofu and when it came out, the aroma was very strong and bothersome. I didn’t want to try it, but I remembered always telling my son-when he was growing up-that he was never allowed to dislike any type of food, based on looks or smell. He had to take a bite, and if he liked it, great. If he didn’t, we’ll at least he tried it. Rose, I tried it, and I couldn’t. The taste was the same as the smell. 😢 For Anzai to like stinky tofu at such a young age, and for you as his mama to make it for him, even though the smell bothers you, speaks volumes of your love and devotion for your son! You’re a great mama, so please don’t ever think otherwise! ❤

Such a complex process. The things we do for love, 🤢....😄! From what I see - while you each provide training and guidance - you both also care very much about his joy, and pay attention to what he expresses so that you may in time grant his wants. I believe that Anzai will appreciate how special you as his parents (and also as human beings) are - especially as he grows older, meets a wider variety of people, and has more experience. 💓💕

@@julietjohnson9400 It is soybean puree with the water pressed out to form solidified blocks. It has a very neutral taste and soft texture (similar to the texture of jello). It takes on the flavor of whatever it is cooked with. It can be eaten as it is, or can be used in various recipes.
