I’m pretty sure this is what God intended for people when He created the world. Harmony, community, sharing, people of all ages and backgrounds supporting and teaching one another. In the cities we are sooooooo far removed from this way of life, it makes me sad thinking about it. I genuinely can’t imagine sharing this level of sisterhood with my neighbors. At least we know that somewhere in the world, God’s original plan is alive and kicking.

I agree, I love watching these videos because there is such a sense of community. I live in a subdivision and no matter how I try and get to know each of my neighbors we never seem to connect and really only chat at the mailbox or wave as we go into the house. I think it’s because most of us are still working and have to spend so much time and energy there we are so exhausted we just go hibernate in our homes after work. Then on the weekends (if we aren’t working at our jobs) we are so busy trying to maintain these ridiculous standards we just work in the yards or take care of house cleaning and if we are very lucky we can sometimes see our families (usually the kids dumping the grandchildren for us to take care of while they go off and play). There is little joy in life or from our families. This place looks like people actually care about their neighbors and families. And the neighbors and families care back. People come and help with tasks and it’s fun. Life isn’t all work and drudgery. When they work together they laugh and enjoy each other’s company. Such a nice thing that is rapidly becoming forgotten in our part of the world. 😢

@@lornalewis7262 Yes of course she’s doing great no matter how long the videos are. I watch regardless. I just love Rose so much and interested in the life she lives out in the country side of China. It is different from mine so I’m really interested in seeing more because her life is typically not what I see here where I’m at. She leads an interesting life and I enjoy her cooking. Didn’t know it was a crime to want to see more of her rural life in China as an African woman married to a Chinese man and speaking his language. It’s fascinating. So yes, 30 minutes would be an extra blessing for us once in awhile. 🤗

What a delightful video! I miss that community spirit where I live. I miss having family and neighbors close and getting together to do tasks (many hands make light work). I remember all my mother's friends getting together sharing laughter and cooking food together. What a delight us kids had, it has been so long ago but it seems like yesterday. Everyone cared for each other & had manners. Now a days everyone is so busy with their lives & don't have time to stop and enjoy the time you have now. I am glad that I have beautiful memories in my twilight years for everyone is leaving & know one to pass these memories to. When we would make tamales 🫔 with my aunts and cousins, my dad would sit back and watch with a huge smile. He would say, I love seeing my girls working hard and smiling (he had 3 daughters) but don't worry, dad was responsible for starting and keeping the fire going and lifting the heavy pots.

Of course she must embrace our culture and community, she made a choice to marry Chinese and move to China, how long do you think she would last if she didn't, come on be serious. Tho it is good she embrace us but she not the only woman that cooks with and or feeds the community we all do where do you think she learn from, from us. It would be nice once in a while if you ppl would acknowledge us for teaching her, none of you ever give us thanks or respect and it offends us greatly. There are so many African women here now who marry Chinese that does the same as Rose but you never acknowledge them either, the difference is they work so much harder than Rose, Rose is spoiled by Shou Wu he hands her everything where the other woman have to do it on their own but most work side by side with their husband's. Don't you see most of this is for her video's for her to make money no more no less, you see what the camera's let you see, we live here so we know. WOW! So much work went into making those dumplings! How fun was it, to watch Rose, Mei, and the aunties working together! The savory filling looked so delicious, especially with the Chinese sauerkraut. Rose is that called ‘suan tsai?’ My co-workers and I used to go have noodles with suan tsai. So many years later, I can still remember the flavor. Rose, the dumplings were not ugly…..They were rustic looking-so much better than a machined and perfect dumpling that you would buy at the store. Great job girls!! ❤
