it's because a lot of people didn't grow up in a generation with email, computers, and texts so they don't know what's real or not unless they have someone to help them. Not their fault, some scams are much more believable than others. Some they actually use the proper logos and fake emails to make it look like they are actually from paypal or whatever. And some older people may not know that you have to check your accounts first before believing it even if it looks real. I've had calls that I thought were scams and were real calls from the police lol scams are a problem

We got a call on the home phone from a computer generated voice saying that a tech support person has detected illegal activity and we needed to call them back immediately to resolve the problem. We all have Android devices and not any kind of Apple devices. The number got blocked after it was researched on the internet.

I think the sound effects make it seem more real because when they can hear you driving and just doing things around the house it makes it more believable for them which makes them more motivated because they think you are actually doing what you're telling them, and that makes them more confident that they will be getting money from you so they are willing to stay on the phone longer. You can see this with Kitboga's videos. He does an amazing job at adding sound effects and they will literally stay on the phone for hours with him.
