I didn’t expect this band at all!! Please more Being As An Ocean!!! One of my greatest concert experiences is with this band. When they played This Loneliness Won’t Be The Death of Me the singer jumped in the crowd and I screamed the words back at him. At the end of a powerful line towards the end of the song he gave me a giant hug. Truly genuine people and a special band for me.

I struggle as hard as Vin did to figure out words to describe what this song makes me feel, what it brings up. I am still crying. Thank you for all that you couldn't find the words to share, but which was spoken through your eyes as loudly as a sonic boom. When Sori was saying she can't be crying on a shirt that's being sent out you were thinking it increases the value "they'd probably pay more for it" right, Vin?

Never saw Vin like this before. Such a real moment. I’m glad you didn’t cut it out. Haven’t heard this band in a long time. Great song choice. The lyrics are solid. They are a metalcore band. Metal and hardcore influenced. I think the reason the good bands in this genre (and others) get overlooked are because for every 1 good band there are 10 more who sound similar and the good band gets lost in the mix. I am a fan of bands who use their platform to tackle tough issues. I saw this a lot in the hardcore scene where bands took the time between songs to discuss something of a greater importance. One band I think does this really well are called Stick to Your Guns. The vocalist really writes from the heart on issues that so many can relate to. If you ever check out Stick to Your Guns I recommend starting with a song called Amber.

A lot of people don’t like their sound. Personally I like their first album dear g-d the best. 2 songs I’d suggest. The hardest part is forgetting those you swore you would never forget, and this loneliness won’t be the death of me. The last song on the album if they’re not counted, count me out is really raw and emotional because it’s about him dealing with the thought of loved ones ending up in hell because they weren’t saved. The whole album is just raw emotion.

Xbenjamins Yeah, the first 2 Albuns were "just" Melodic Hardcore and with the last two especially the last one they've tuned down the heavyness but the Amazing Lyrics remained and tbh I dont really care how they turn out to sound on the next album if they still deliver the message with those lyrics, well if they start to go Bubble Pop or sth like that I would question myself wtf is going but I doubt that will happen xD

Love this band, one of my favorites as well. I remember some songs from their first album popped up on my KZbin years back and I was hooked and listened to the whole album and finished it with the feeling of being surrounded by love. I know that sounds cheesy but its true, I also was lucky to see them live in my city and they came with wolves at the gate which is a hardcore Christian band which they are out of this world as well bought their cd at the merch booth. Every album by being as an ocean is a wonderful experience, mothers is probably one of the saddest songs I've listened too by them. Good on you guy for listening to your viewers. Much love to you two much love.

noice, i've suggested BAAO once with "Deaths great black wing" from thier 2nd album. another great song/message. This specific album GLOW is from he changes his vocals pretty drastically where the "growling" turned more raspy than emotion imo. Least favorite album of theirs. first 2 are gold. When you started talking about the kids diving and how hard it is to dive under water. My comment has nothing to do with diving but I do have a vivid memory of almost dying under water. I was like 9 or 10. We went on a field trip to the local swimming pool with our class mates. I've always been a lone wolf most of my life. I swam mostly by myself in the deep end. I went half way down to the bottom of the pool. Got lost in the piece and serenity and Looked up and took a breath of water. I sat there and thought of what I should do for a second. Sit there, or save myself. I didn't care at the moment if I lived or died. I just randomly started swimming up to the surface until I choked on air and water. I sat there and thought of how easy it was to chose on life or death. A kid shouldn't be thinking of type of stuff but I was the odd ball of the class. Still am to this day. I don't consider death as an option unless I really need to. I like to use it as a thought that comforts me when things get tough.

Wow. Just as you anticipated, I've never heard of the band and will definitely be giving them a good look, despite the fact that hardcore isn't my favorite genre by any means. As someone who suffers from manic-depression but refuses to take medication, this really hit home. With quite a bit of force, too. The world's an overwhelming place, and that's very much a product of how blind most of us are to the troubles that we all face. To the differences between not just perspectives and the ways we think, the philosophies we craft, but also the mental faculties we are born with. Not everyone is created equal. With all due to respect to your religious background, of course. I really wish I had more time to go through your reactions and analyses, it's always a pleasure.

This video has been on my to watch list for awhile. 2:18 Scuba Diving can be very very dangerous, the deeper you dive underwater the heavier the water pressure gets, which is why you need to "pop" your ears (holding your nose closed and trying to blow from it, which equalizes the pressure) or you could very easily pass out

i think the subject of this song is: Life. Life is worth everything, even though we're surrounded by differences, difficulties and inscribed into the flow of time.

Best thing I ever heard was from a friend I gave shelter from his environment for one or two days he was having a hard time, that I totally changed his perspective on life. And to be honest, I didn't do a thing. I just hung out with him, when he couldn't handle finding out he's beeing adopted when he had a hard time with his parents anyway. Well, I did chase him down the road when he was trying to run away first. But that's nothing to put a thought in, it's just what you do, isn't it? Took him a couple of years to say it though, so it must have made some impression on him.

Love seems like a lost art nowadays... it’s a high demand, scarce commodity and it seems to be taken for granted and greedily reserved. Some give it more often than not but far too often it’s kept in reserve like an unreachable goal that is only teased like a fairytale for personal gain and for some it’s a distant memory. For the past 7 years I have made a point to make sure that I share what love I can to those in my life, from casual acquaintance to close family, by reaching out to them, reminding them that I am here and that I appreciate them for sharing their lives with me because I want them to know that they mean something and that they matter to me. Fantastic message and song and as always, much love!!

I came here from the most recent Judas Priest reaction. I did't know you listened to Being as an Ocean. Somehow I missed it. Now here is the thing: This is one of my new favorites. 1. Fit for a King - Oblivion (Because at that time i didn't know the band, but that song had a huge impact on me) 2. Being as an Ocean - Glow 3. Killswitch Engage - Signal Fire You are just awsome and my favorite people on the internet. I watch nearly every reaction, fireside, Middle America and My Sori Life. My goal is to watch everything. I am a sensitive person, get emotinal to so many songs and cry too. But to see Vin like that was a tough one. Love you

Glad that you finally did a BAAO Song, I love this Band, they have, together with Silent Planet, some of the most poetic Lyrics I've ever read/heard. I can only recommend checking them out some more cause they've changed their style quite a bit with the last album (where Glow is on) in comparison to their debut album which was absolutely amazing Melodic Hardcore. If you wanna react to more of BAAO try "The Hardest Part Is Forgetting Those You Swore You Never Forget" or "Little Richie".
