Holy shit. Their drummer is SO under appreciated. I am SO HAPPY that many other people see how great he is, I never realized it either until I saw this video. I really appreciate their frontman more too.

Funny how when a guitarist gets crafty on a song aside from a solo, nobody has an issue, but when it's the drummer everybody goes ape shit and labels it "showing off and excessive." He's a master in the pocket simple as that, a little more interesting than the album version, open your minds.

Trust me the drummer didn't get off tempo. If he did the whole band would have been thrown off. He was on. And going completely ham. I'm not going to lie it sounded weird. But he was on time.
@JohnWilliams-uh2vz9 жыл бұрын
jonathan diaz He's just putting the accents in different places than in the recorded version. Makes it sound like the downbeats are in the "wrong" spot but yeah he's still playing correctly.

Hot DAMN those clean vocals are amazing! Just a great group overall. I agree with the comments on the drummer loosing the group on some of his tangents, but he has the best intentions of playing his ass off, so he does.
@DearFreja9 жыл бұрын
No, it's not him losing the group. It is polymetres/rhythms being used. Everyone saying he is off beat or losing it is plain wrong.
@dvdthomas109 жыл бұрын
I think it's more like he puts fills where ever the hell he wants. Structure be damned. I like it!
@DearFreja9 жыл бұрын
Anyone who listens to a lot of mathrock/progressive metal would be used to it. Look up 'Save Us From The Archon'. There are no drumlines, just fills.

***** drop D I think bro.
@raymolina78859 жыл бұрын
No its not in drop d it is in drop b, the lead goes clean in the actual song but in hear he's going back and forth on clean and I believe a delay pedal, rythym guitar is on a distortion pedal the whole song
@bongprophet9 жыл бұрын
Ray Molina Hey, I've recently learned this song. I don't know what tuning they play in. I learnt this in drop C. The chorus lead tone is something I'm working on also. sounds slightly overdriven with a bit of the tone rolled off.
@raymolina78859 жыл бұрын
Dylan D Hey that's cool man, it's always cool to experiment with different tunings to sort of make the song your own, now , in my opinion I never liked the song in drop C, I tried it once, and that was the end of that. Now, in the original song, and in this video, they play in drop B; when it comes to pedals, you have way more options in which you can choose, in this video, i don't know what pedals he used, but it sounded sick, personally, I sometimes used a little bit of delay reverb pedal, and then went clean, but that's just me
@bongprophet9 жыл бұрын
Ray Molina Thanks man. I'll definitely have to try learning this song in drop b. Any idea if the rest of the album is in drop b also? I've yet to learn any other songs from this album.

Connor is really really good but man he's sloppy at times. Just saying the truth. They're an amazing band but a little too sloppy. Not gonna lie Joel kinda messed the song up when he tried to go an octave higher is that bridge part. Again just being honest, not hating at all! Love these guys!!
@Pujols05010 жыл бұрын
This genre isn't about perfection, it's about raw emotion. The mess ups don't really bother me. Just my opinion
