@@snownfire you got an interesting name. 😂😂😂. Why black people are mistaken for a cleaner? I have seen many white people as a cleaner too. You visit any country. If the majority is black, white will feel awkward. Similarly among browns white is not considered attractive. So it is just politics. @@nightangalesweet9239 Cleaners don't always wear uniforms in the UK and neither do delivery drivers. In urban areas they are often black so some people automatically presume you are the cleaner, delivery person or doing another low status job. A few years ago I an interview at a place on an industrial site on the outskirts of London where I informed the organisation days before hand I needed a car parking space due to their location. They informed me by email a space had been booked. I turned up for the interview and the only available place was for another member of staff so I parked there. I went into reception, informed the receptionist I had come for an interview, I had parked in that space, told her I had booked a car parking space and asked where should I park. She told me very rudely I couldn't park in that space and I should park somewhere else. I asked where and she said else where in a don't care manner and started shouting at me. So I got in my car drove around to check there were no other parking spaces and then started driving home. I stopped half way home and phoned the person who arranged the interview to inform her what had happened. I then finished driving home. Over the next two days I got a series of emails. The interviewers were furious with the receptionist and apologised for her behaviour. Apparently she didn't realise that I was attending an interview for a highly specialised senior role. Anyway they asked if I would come back in for the interview. I said "No" as regardless of the role no-one should be treated like that. The thing is this receptionist was black. The only other time I've had similar behaviour towards me is from white people.

She said ‘You were not sensitive’ to racial abuse and he agreed. Lol. How can the reaction to being verbally or physically abused ever be termed as sensitivity? It shows her lack of sensitivity and empathy to the plight of black people in majority-white countries. She only seemed to connect to what was being discussed when he spoke of his white friend facing “racism” from a black person. Racism can cause mental and physical health issues in the population of people experiencing it. This interview, while having a positive intention, turned out to be insensitive.

The racism here in London is often subtle and/or passive-aggressive, and it's not just from White English people, there are a lot of people from different heritages that live in London like, Chinese, Vietnamese, Bangladeshi etc, who I've seen to be racist also, people who are born in different countries have asked me where I am from even though I was born in London, they are conditioned into thinking that "English" means white, and I get the impression that when tourists come to London they are often shocked by how mixed London is, they look at you with disbelief. American history with racism is well known and documented, racist English history doesn't get the same attention, white people have had their thumb on black people here differently to how it happened in America and that makes it far easier to sweep a lot of the past under the carpet, the WILL go on about how they "ended slavery" though and anything that is a positive indication of England or the British empire

Its sad because some things even if you are the best you wont reach your potential for example..in a job you wont move up or become a manager and you wont know why. Racism is now done in sneaky ways...if you fill in the equality form and put Indian or Black you just wont get called to an interview. Who monitors it, your application will go straight into the bin. I tried once putting a different name and ethnicity with everything else being the same just to check and wow suddenly loads of calls to come to any interview.

The trouble with this video and others like it is that the African is doing all of the giving up of his energy, his experiences and his knowledge. He is then told that it is because he is an exceptional individual as to why he has had success. He attributes his success not just to himself but his family's support and his family's strong culture. But it looks to me as an african diasporan man that as though the interviewer is feeding off the interviewee psychologically and intellectually. All those "how did it make you feel" questions. There are many talented and skilled people of african ancestry that have achieved well academically but have not been able to match this professionally. For there are many hidden barriers and pitfalls in the world of employment that mitigate against success. Without the strong support of a family it is very difficult to sustain success. i would like to be kinder but i have to say that the white person that wants to study how and why a Black person had success and how they coped with racism "what were your coping strategies", is merely educating a racist how to be a better racist, gaining knowledge on how to manage and maintain a system of disadvantage and arrest development. The semi-educated narcissistic Black person that acts in a stereotypical way does not threaten the social hierarchy, they are "tolerated". it is the more educated culturally black person that does not necessarily want to integrate nor see his or her role as an "ambassador" for the black race but wants to make a life that he can have a future with a family and own a home, that is often subjected to disadvantage and discrimnination. Faced with invisible barriers that his white peers are not exposed.

This is normal for black people in any Americanized country. I’m an American descendent of slavery officially casted as Black in America...which determines ones social status. Racism is normal and as a black person who is American you are told to be a supernatural human being. That’s crazy I always fight against it and say “I refuse”! I will be a human being not some superbeing to receive basic human rights.
@mtaylor45234 жыл бұрын
@sergio 1 It’s a requirement as a casted black American...you have to be abnormal to fit in with the normality of white professionals in Corporate America where the culture is mostly “MAGA” supported. Abnormal in the context of you can’t have a family, you never get fatigued, you never need vacation time off, you can’t ever introduce an idea with out it being overly scrutinized, if you’re a black man...you can’t have a beard (it’s too masculine), if you’re a black woman...promotions are hard to come by if your hair is not straightened out to make it look like the texture of white women. Question is not “who asked” the question is why is the behavior supported and why do this multi billion dollar organizations support this level of hatered.

When I was born we were known as the no race without any civil right because of the X African slave trade. I can't be a Black Britain or Scottish Black or even a Black Walsh man. Living in the city in 1973 was a totally different experience. Once we hit 13 the police would be the king in the race hate game. Next to our tutor's & class enemies. Again why couldn't she be honest & say people like us understand our hate towards people like you. We say white, Indian, Chinese, Philippino people.. But we always say Black, when they are like me Brown people or am I the only coloured blinds person on Mother Earth. Remember we made this & I don't have the right to say stop saying I'm black, it's up to us all to understand the pain & unjust suffering to people with dark skin globally. Your not the only one looking out the white door into a blackroom, this happened on a daily basis. STOP THE ROT, Stand up & be part of the solution & than England's UKIP or Germanys Nazi party or the United States Trump party. The Chinese government hate Africans, in Indias African are less than the untouchables class system. Ask yourself have you ever seen a Chinese person in a African or West Indian shop. Next time you pass your local curry house or Chinese shop ask yourself would they buy from you ?, other than the DRUGS YOUR obviously selling. Thanks for your comments, this is why it’s so important for people to speak about this issue, we want to understand what people have experienced as much as possible, we are sorry you felt the interviewer didn’t understand the issues as well as they should have but she really wanted to understand the experiences people face and raise awareness. I have to say I was born in Nigeria of English heritage. I have a Nigerian step sister and step mother who now have chosen to live here. The only racism I have seen but perhaps it is the circles in which I move, was in Africa. The racism is not only about colour, as to whether a person is dark black or light black, but also tribal racism. As I said I was born in Africa but am not considered African by Africans due to my blood and my skin colour. I am not entitled to a Nigerian passport-how racist is that????? My step sister and step mother are both Nigerian but have British passports. A lot of the richest people in both America and the UK are black-some of the most poorest in society are in fact white. Due to the BLM protests in the UK, from discussions with friends, the whole subject has now become irrelevant. The interviewee says he felt 'different'-well, obviously I as a white person born in Nigeria also felt different and was treated differently. The worst treatment however in Africa is by African to fellow African and perhaps the BLM protestors should start trying to change that situation !

Tell that to the white people as they are the ones who set up this system of hate and saying that to so called black people is just preaching to the choir.

@@nightangalesweet9239 mix race historically to the present will always be the enemy of the black race; statistically, these people have always sided with their non black side and almost never marry black; as a result, the black race has enough non black enemies to deal with so we do not need additional enemies, like mixed race people!

Wokeness and BLM does not define Black people as victims. It is those who are threatened by these ideas and realities that want to victimise blackness. Black people have so much more to them than these realities, especially in the UK.

I thought the same. There’s nothing polite about being silent in the circumstances. Interviewer probably wanted to say or should have said not wanting to rock the boat. Asking if he was alright after the event is a bit too late. If she cared enough, she should have said something immediately.

There are hundreds and thousands of people in Britain who do not want to be here, but they have no choice. Slavery and colonialism were responsible for the destruction of their country economy, industries, ripping of their minerals including the dead of millions which has for hundreds of years led to continuous discrimination and hardship. Until you are prepared to equal the playing field of wealth distribution, I am afraid that migration will continue. Western population needs education and an historical prospective of how the UK came to be what it is today.
