I have a difficult time explaining myself to other citizens because they perceive I'm doing something wrong. I immediately turn it back to them and ask, who are you, and why do you need to know? For example, I went to Texas just south of Austin, stopped at a gas station, and was getting money at the ATM machine. A Coca-Cola delivery person came in and began speaking in a foreign language. I didn't pay attention because I did not understand. As I'm going through the ATM process, he says again louder. Finally, I look behind me and see him looking at me. I said, I don't know what language you speak, but were you talking to me? He said, Oh, sorry, bro, I thought you were Mexican. So I turned it back to him and said, "Sprechen Sie Deutsch?" He looked confused and said, "Excuse me?" I repeated myself and said it again, Sprechen Sie Deutsch? He said, sorry, bro, I can't understand. Immediately, I said, oh, I was asking if you spoke German. He said no. I was like, I thought all of you spoke German. My bad, BRO. All of a sudden, all seven white people in the gas station were looking at me like, how dare you? After the delivery person walked by, he caught on to what I was saying and apologized. He said, wow, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to assume you were Mexican. And I said, now you know what it feels like when people assume, then smiled at him. He understood the lesson learned, and we both went our way. As for the seven people in line, they learned a little about critical race theory!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. My point is: don't explain yourself because you think you have to; make them explain themselves to you and teach them the lesson.

South Carolina is racist. Buying a house is difficult and as a child, I had a principal that lied and got me expelled from school. I’m ready to leave the State and its corruption behind me. In your case, they probably liked the dress and had never seen a pretty black woman. The fact that you were happy, and not bothering anyone they were looking to ruin your day. @@jacklyneverage3881 You're absolutely right. South Carolina is no worse than other states. For the past 30 years, the worst states for black people are found in the Midwest and North east. Where Wisconsin consistently ranked as the worst state for African-Americans followed by Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. The north love to label the south as more racist and that's absolutely not true. Has anyone been to Milwaukee or Boston? Both Milwaukee and Boston are worst than any city in South Carolina, the same can be said with NYC, Chicago, and St. Louis...there is a reason why tRump is from NYC. One should not forget about the racism African-Americans face from other minorities as well, such as from Asians and Latinos. On top of all these, the worse is how we treat each other, I think that is even worse than racism. We need to treat each other better with respect, the way others treat their own people. For the most part, we don't treat each other with respect and love, that's the main reason our neighborhoods are the way they are.... Bottom line is we need to love each other first, before others respect us.

You know what really throws old white dudes off? When a black women is friendly and self confident. It confuses them for a second. They have to shift gears and be polite. They expect defensiveness and attitude. I am moving from CA to SC. I'm white and my wife is Hispanic. So I'm always paying attention to the racial dynamics wherever I go. It's subconscious now. I noticed that blacks in the South seem guarded with me at first, but I'm naturally very friendly and like meeting new people. Almost without fail as soon as I start being friendly their whole demeanor relaxes and I have met some of the most wonderful people this way. I enjoy chatting and getting to know blacks more than I do whites most of the time. African Americans tend to have way better sense of humor as a rule. Funny how that works. Y'all are way more fun! I recently moved to Jacksonville, NC and it's most definitely something in the air. On my walk to the beauty supply store two white women saw me walking. A couple minutes after entering the beauty supply store they both walk in. They seemed so out of place like they just wanted to see where I was going. Not to say they weren't coming to shop but they looked at me when they walked in and did some aimless browsing. It was so weird. I've experienced several situations that rubbed me the wrong way. I'm a white male, and my wife and I now live in Greer, near Greenville. Until the last two years, I never even thought about race. My best friend for the past 40 years is an immigrant from Ethiopia, and my wife is of Asian Indian origin. Our friend mix is about 80% white, 20% non-white, based upon the people we are close to from work, neighborhood, etc. Almost all of us are conservative, including the blacks. None of us give a damn about color. Martin Luther King wanted his children to be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Now, with Antifa and BLM, that is changing. Conservative values are opposed to racism. Racism is never acceptable. Where there is racism, we should work toward changing it, but we should not burn down and destroy the country with no real understanding of human history. The charge of racism has become a weapon, and I am happy that you are somewhat reserved in jumping to racism on a regular basis. I would like to find out more about this church and would be happy to go to that church to do further investigation. My wife and I would welcome the chance to meet you and your husband sometime. Where there is real racism, let's work to get rid of it together.

@frankrosenbloom2 жыл бұрын
@@OhDatsJaVion How dare you! Your descendance does not give you the right to ignore history. Of course racism is real, but not institutional racism. Half the freaking world is descended from slavery. There are as many as a million slaves currently held in Africa by black slaveholders. Maybe listed to the teachings of someone like Thomas Sowell sometime for the truth. More black people are killed on the streets of Chicago in two weeks by other blacks than are shot in a year by police. Wake up and grow up. You are responsible for your situation, not slavery of the past or imagined systemic racism. When there is racism, let's call it out together, but the vast majority of people are not racist. Stop using it as a freaking excuse. The liberal policies of the Dems contributed to the degradation of black families under the guise of anti-racism. You are following the popular crap instead of learning history. Half of my family were killed in the concentration camps of Nazis but I don't use that as an excuse not to perform, nor do I feel I deserve reparations from people who were not alive when it happened.
