JAZZYYYY why does your explanation sound exactly like me when I was younger!!??? Like I remember whenever I lost in even like tying my shoelaces faster than other kids I would beat myself up about it and be so competitive and brag whenever I got the chance because I just needed to feel the acceptance of the others and how I’m superior like them and even now whilst I’m in my part of life that doesn’t criticise myself even sometimes on bad days I can find myself subtly bragging to someone to feel nice!!????? And I was so hard on myself I had to be the best at EVERYTHINGGGGGG. On top of this, I would always think I could get better results if I did it myself and the others just held me down. sorry for anyone reading my rants

Yes. So true. LITERALLY!!! Like I just stepped out of law school to help with finances and my cousin who did law school after me is getting all these credits. Like... wth? That doesn't mean she's better it literally just means I should have done what I wanted to do as soon as I finished college and that's to go to work at a young age, giving me time to save money so that when emergencies happen, I can still continue with my master plan. My cousin's family is just richer thus she was able to continue until pandemic was over. That's it!

I didn’t grow up in an Asian household but honestly this is still really relatable. Being the youngest my dad for the most part had expectations on me because my older brother was always smart and had made his standards higher by that. Even though he doesn’t say it for the most part he still sometimes says things like “you know this” or “you can do this” even though I don’t. It still happens and is really frustrating
@user-vk5tn7ji5bАй бұрын
that is exactly like me when i was younger like use to literally throw all the uno cards if i lost in a game of uno and all of the other things that you said is exactly the same with my parents like them comparing me to my cousins saying it was supposed to "motivate" me especially because i was an only child so all the burden of expectations was on me😭😭

As an Asian I actually can’t relate to this as I grew up with not too strict parents in Australia. They had low expectations for me which is sort of a good thing but all my friends at school were exactly like you Jaz, very competitive and achieving medals, making their parents proud and happy. I always thought I had let my parents down and they have given up on hoping that I would achieve anything. Now whenever I am in a competition or a game ( UNO for example) I would feel really anxious and scared I will let my team down or make a fool of myself when I lose.

Thank you so much for your support jazmine but i kinda always feel like my parents (my mom. My parents are divorced) don’t like me and seeing other kids my age makes me feel kinda different and lonely because I have 4 other siblings and she kind of tells me bad word like “if I die, you are going to be its reason” or “you are such a headache”…. Thanks a lot for your motivation!!❤ Love you always❤️❤️🥰😘

This didn't happen much for me as a child, but I was fragile and really needed that love and support. It still hurts but now that I've started seeing there's more to life than vanity, I'm VERY ready to respectful tell ANYONE off to never do that to me or my siblings else they risk harming out relationship VERY clearly. People need to do better

Ok, short storytime. This video is literally so relatable. When I was like 8 or 9 years old, my parents always compared me and my lil sis. I used to care, but now I just don't. I don't have to be as good as someone else, to be great. I don't have to be better than everyone else to be great. I just have to be enough for me. Btw, I'm 11, turning 12 this year. (Just in case: 😊 please don't be like those people, who say "aren't you too young to be in the comment section" My life, my choice.)

My parents would compare me to my 6-7 YEARS APART SIBLINGS JUST BECAUSE OF RESULTS, THEY COMPARING LIKE 'oh, why cant you be as hardworking as your siblings and be more responsible' AND FOR THE SMALLEST OF THINGS THOSE TWO WOULD ACT LIKE THEY ARE THE VICTIMS WHEN THEY DON'T TAKE ACTION FOR THEIR OWN WORK, GETTING ME SCOLDED AND WHAT NOT. EVEN COMPARED TO MY OLDER COUSINS

Hi Jaz, any experience on encountering toxic boy mums? Any tips on handling this special creatures? 😂 They're weirdly so obsessive of their son, and super combative of other female presence in their son's life, to the point of borderline lunatic. It's a huge contrast, her behaviour around my fiancee's sisters/ her own daughters and my fiancee/her son 😅

jaz, you are not alone. my sister was compared until she got her life together and used her god-gifted genius intelligence that she neglected for years, went to the fashion institute of technology and university of Massachusetts, became a buyer at Macy's, rose to be a VP of Macy's. she was married for 30 years until her husband died of a heart attack. she had it all.

Kinda morbid, so only read if you like digging through the dirt... There will be a time in all of our lives when death comes for us - only us - and everyone else gets to continue on living. It's like a big unfair wall being put between you and the world that you can't tear down. At that moment of disconnection, say, looking at children playing in a park, you'll realize how precious having your whole life ahead of you is. Don't waste it being someone else. There's no room for "fitting in" once that wall goes up
