Each & everyone of us can help those in need & it doesn't always have to cost money. Go see them, spend time with them & let them know that you're there for them in whatever way you can be. Above all, give them hope...& yes if you can afford alittle bit to help them, be it food, clothes, blankets, dog food etc. Then great, they appreciate it more than you will know. I, and a lot of people, go backpacking on the Appalachian trail for fun. We are used to carrying a pack every day going up/down mountain trails. The optimum weight for a backpack to carry everyday, is no more than 25 pounds. The pack would contain shelter & sleeping bag w/pad, jacket, rain gear,5 days food, stove, poop kit, hygiene kit,, phone & charger, water & filter, extra socks. I met a couple Hobo's on the trail. One thing they carried extra was a 10 inch plastic bowl secured to the outside of their pack. In cities, they would line the bowl with a plastic Walmart bag, use the bowl to poop in their tent, and then throw away the bag.

What a kind and understanding man who believes in offering comfort and support. The shelters and clinics will never end homelessness and people living on the streets. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Millions and billions get thrown into these things and people are still homeless. There are mental illnesses and emotional disabilities that no clinics, programs or social workers can fix. You can't put a person who had a severed spinal cord into a walking program because it won't work. Telling him to think positive and try harder won't work. His legs don't work and he needs a wheel chair. They have legs yes, but they don't work. The homeless people have emotional and mental disabilities and developmental delays. They have multiple serious issues. Anxiety, fears, rejection, hopelessness, Shattered souls, history of trauma, destroyed psyches. Yes they talk and they have a brain that is malfunctioning. You can't see the damage, can't take a picture of it but it's there. All the programs and therapies, belly gazing and talking won't fix their brains, neither will condemnation, threats, booting them back out and such things. They are permanently disabled or at least most of them. In some cases clinics, programs can benefit some of the people. Using renevated old abandoned buildings for permanent tiny rooms for the homeless might be an option but tends to take millions upon millions to operate. Tiny homes take minimal cost long term and it dies get people off the street and into shelter. That is the goal. Its far cheaper. The money spent has long term benefits. You are building tiny homes instead of paying for programs.The money benefits the homeless instead of going towards administration costs and all the other programs that never solve the homelessness. Doesn't work. Tiny homes works. Any programs need to be offered completely at their own discretion. Most people want to do well and want to try without the fear of failing and being kicked out or condemned. They need the security and hope. Leave it up to them when they are ready and at their own pace. Those who can will put forth the effort when they have had some recovery time to rest and build strength. This typically takes much longer than people think and many are permanently disabled. People need to stop expecting them to rewire their brain, soul and psyche. It's set in stone, the disabilities and brokeness and traumas. Just look at the homeless population.They are not getting better; They can't. Other homeless people are addicts. Condemning them won't change that. Unfortunately drug dealers continue to push their drugs and young teenagers think its cool to try the drugs that seem to be making the party so much fun and they don't believe they could ever become addicted. A stupid mistake ruins their life as they travel down a road that progressively destroys them. Others take drugs to mask the pain of Abuse, traumas and despair. The wrong way to deal with it all for sure but it still they do it with life long consequences. The other thing is people who have had injuries and illnesses and were prescribed pain medication and become addicted. Its all terribly destructive and horrific. Denying them a tiny home won't change anything. Condemning them won't fix it. Many with the mental illnesses turn to the drug addictions too and therefore many if not most have both problems. Another factor is physical disabilities and or chronic illnesses. Whatever the case may be leaving them on the streets is bad for them and society. Stop the drugs. Stop the drug trafficking and all the corruption.

I have been trying to spread the word about, a channel called invisible people, you probably already know it , breaks my heart 💔 so many stories all 😔, if only a charity could be set up for all these people, I mean like one big one where millions are pumped into it, and by an organisation that don’t profit from it, and I don’t mean the church ⛪️, I know they do so much, but the charity would help other organisations, like food banks, churches and such, it can be done ✅, there is a channel called mr beast, I don’t know how he does it but he raises millions, does challenges, saw one episode where him and his friends went in to a super market, bought nearly everything there and donated it to different food banks.

I don't mind sleeping outside vs fighting for another worthless dollar only to give it away for a moment's comfort. There's a certain peace you find once you actually learn homelessness that no temporary home can replace. I travel alot & see people who seem successful but their actually stuck in a life they hate. I dont wish it upon people but if you are here in the same situation, learn it & you'll never feel homeless again.

All fine and good with MORE FREE things provided. Now let's get realistic to Solve the drug problem and/or create a community full of resources outside the city where they can work, play, rehab, and do drugs. Do you really think they want housing with a curfew and no access to drugs, and with strict cleaning restictions? I hear them talking all the time, right from my window, how they are just waiting for their next Welfare or SSI/SSD check to score drugs or to get their Food Stamps money to sell It for the same purpose. Then, going to the Food Banks and clothing locations -they know all the locations. All their monthly assistance is, most of the time, spent on drugs. I hear this all the time. Thinking otherwise, Is living in another world. City Leaders think that building more housing and shelters will solve the problem...IT WON'T. Get rid of the drugs and the Mental illness caused 95% of the time "by those same drugs" and you will solve the problem. NOT HAPPENING!! All this other garbage about building more housing and shelters IS NONESENSE. Just a way to give projects to hungry Contractors and dishing out money to those in the rehab and shelter business. Kids cant play in Parks, Urine odors all over, people defecating in our streets and alleys, trash galore left behind by the homeless that typically dont care, screaming foul language and arguments over drugs or things that dont make sense. Leaders have been offering the same solutions for years and the problem Is still present. Of course the number of homeless Is rising, but it's not because of the lack housing and shelters... it's because of drugs and homeless from other states flock here because of the good weather...try being homeless in North Dakota, Buffalo, or Illinois. You still see many holding signs of going to a California. Our leaders must either 1) live great neighborhoods or 2) work in beautiful, clean buildings where homeless are not allowed or 3) both. Our leaders are seriously not connected with reality. .......One Latino Citizen's Opinion.

@@aarongranda7825 Everything you say nowadays Is Racist...so I will be careful. I would create a Mega complex out in the desert somewhere with facilities for them....and after números loitering or disorderly conduct incidents, put them to work there or allow them to do drugs there. There has to be a place where they can be and there must be an incentive to get out of that situation. Children and homeless doing drugs at parks, in kid's play areas should not coexist. Our LEADERS allow this. Visit "Seaside Park" on 14th and Chestnut or "Gumbiner Park" on 7th and MLK Jr Ave. Homeless sleeping IN the kids play area. Urine and vomit everywhere. These should be designated "Homeless Parks" Also 7th and L.B. Blvd in the McD's and Carl's JR Parking lots. This problem can't be fixed because It can be considered Racist and because our leaders dont have the backbone to do what Is right.....only empty suits.

Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years? The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist. Find *"The Mystery about the Church of Christ"* video on KZbin, which shows the real causes of Christian sects and atheism. The video reveals a prophecy about the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the end of the world. Watching this video will bring joy to all who sincerely seek God and will interest those who are not too lazy to think freely. Click on my name to watch the video (The video is in Russian, but English subtitles are included).

Someone please admit that plenty of homeless people have job skills and are normal, non drug using, non violent humans. They've been intentionally removed from society by idiots and don't need recovery, they need their names back, and or proof they were even born. They need people in charge to acknowledge that gang stalking is a real thing and that others took them down and won't let them restore their lives. That many of the people out there have aged out of their usefulness in the ho/pimp game and believe it or not there is no retirement program, that many are mobsters who don't want to be killers, or anything else related to their system anymore. There are categorically established blocks to restoration and that somebody bigger then the hell on earth enthusiasts, is going to need to hold their hand all the way through. Also I want to commend people who can maintain their concern and continue to care about insurmountable devastation and I do.
@christirose6813 Жыл бұрын
Feeding them doest fix the problem alone. Yesterday my family and i were at Aquarium of the Pacific. There were grown homeless men buying and selling drugs. They were high in their minds as kites. They were yelling at people, peeing off the walkway into the doc area for the boats. They're were homeless people, grown men especially wandering around among families with children. This is not healthy for families to be around who want to go to a supposed safe family oriented place. Yes, there are some hard working people that fall through the cracks and need help. Im all for supporting people who are genuinely in need. However, let's stop pretending like all these homeless people are innocent and just need a good meal. No. They need to be arrested for being on drugs in public, selli/buying drugs, being vagrants, etc. They expose themselves in front of women and children, wander around lile zombies. It's helpful to some degree but this wont fix the problem.
