Maybe some vampires don't know especially ignorant little gophers like this one it only became a retroactive plot point last series and because it's a bit of folklore they've ignored mitchells girl friend did say if I bit you I'd probably catch something implying she's been warned something bad would happen but not what I'm trying to retcon here but I got kind of annoyed they brought it up this series and never so much as mentioned it in any other

I think that the use of the word gay although comical is a slur. I will give this instance a pass since I am a good fan of the show and words mean different things to different cultures. People in the USA use the term but they ignorant, they would say something is "n-word"y or "blackie." I guess being progressive takes progress.
