It’s easy to feel this way when everyone else around you are moving on to new stages and you’re still “in the same spot”. I think it’s important to focus on self growth and personal projects, we all grow at our own pace 😊 enjoyed hearing your sharing!

I'm so glad you made this video! I am in the exact spot where you are, where we have this societle pressure of thinking we need to get married and have kids by 30, I was definitely freaking out! I've just accepted that its a new society and we don't have to be where others are. You're not alone Jenn!! I feel you.

I totally feel you jenn. I'm also 28 and single. It's inevitable to feel anxious cause we're women and have time clocks but instead of worrying, just enjoy the time you have to yourself now to focus on your self-growth and enjoy your hobbies. We won't get this time back to ourselves once we settle down.

I love the concept of this series, Jenn! I think the feeling of feeling behind in different aspects of life continues even into your 30s. I turned 30 this year and all my friends in their early 30s are in such different stages of life…some single, some married, some married with kids… everyone is on their own timeline and figuring our their own journey through life. Whenever I catch myself feeling “behind” in whatever aspect it may be, I have to remind myself that these expectations are societally driven and not really “real” - focusing on my life and doing what feels right to me on my own time keeps me feeling grounded. It can be easy these days to forget how far you’ve grown compared to where you were a decade ago. I’m glad you’ve found contentment and pride in what you’ve accomplished so far! It would be cool to see the view what you’re journaling on your desk in the future too 🥰 Looking forward to the next episode!

Im in my early 20s but my brother is in his late 20s. I have a feeling that he feels behind his friends because he never finished college and doesnt have much free time and money since he has to help our parents work. It also makes me feel guilty since im ahead of him in college. He doesnt really want to finish college either but worries about getting a stable job if our parents give him more time to do/try something else. I feel like the american norm of moving out and buying your own car also weighs on him as he isnt checking off the normal american life milestones. I told him i would quit my part time and work with my parents if he ever wants to continue school but im just scared if his mental health is going down. He doesnt talk about his feelings much so its hard to know

You put it so perfectly into words... growing up and getting older and seeing societal expectations come into play for your friends is an "odd" feeling. Thank you for being so open and honest in your vid and validating these feelings for everyone!

so excited for this series and truly appreciate the vulnerability jenn💕 it's really easy for all of us to feel like we're behind in one way or another and forget how much we've grown and accomplished! but as you did at the end of the video, affirming ourselves is needful and hope that we can all practice that more☺️ happy birthday too!

Omg, September twins! I just turned 25 and can totally relate. Most of my high school classmates are married, have kids, or have huge careers. I'm neither married nor have any kids and I'm still going to school (I'm indecisive and changed my major like five times, haha). Just like you, I thought I'd be married with kids by now. As an only child, I do have a great support system, but I've been (and still am) pressured by my family to be the first to earn a college degree and get a high-paying career. I remember telling myself at the beginning of 2022 to focus on improving myself to "heal my inner child". I'm still discovering new things about myself, like new hobbies and activities, even though I'm in my mid-20s. Just appreciating what I have in this life and continuing to learn how to accept myself has been an amazing journey! 😊

I turn 30 in a week. I went on a KZbin journey in the past 3 hours starting from Strangers Again, which led to watching the sequel, Lunch Time and then discovering your channel. I wanted to start a journal but could never get it off the ground, so I'm glad I didn't end up sleeping tonight. I'm currently overseas in my native country for the first time ever and the experience is so surreal as someone who is discovering more and more about themselves, and how to express themselves in different ways. It feels like I lucked out being able to add this as a part of that journey of self-discovery and care, literally experiencing a whole new world outside my window. I'm learning to break the limits I put on myself as I grew up, and how to take more than 2 steps at a time. Seeing so many people my age get married, have kids, get promotions etc always made me feel like I was lagging behind. I had to constantly remind myself not to compare my life with others because we all go through life differently, and that makes us neither better or worse than anyone else. I'm just a little human doing little human things. But it's also nice to know that there are other people that are, maybe not in the same boat, but riding the same waves, so we can wave hello to each other as we pass by :)

Thank you for making this video. This means a lot to me who's also in my late 20s and having to see my friends build their families, gather up fortune and so on, while I'm stuck contemplating what's going on and where to lead my life. I used to think the word 'project' should be something huge and adds to the business and personal value. But now I'm starting to think it can be the milestone my life is heading towards regardless. Pleased to watch this!

Next week I'm also turning 28 and to say that I feel behind is an understatement. Things that seem so natural and normal for others, like finding love, seem so out of reach for me. When is your birthday? I love to see a fellow INFP enjoying her career life. I hope you had/have the loveliest birthday! 🤗

I'm also in my "late"-ish 20s, and broke up with my fiancé. I think one thing is that we all tend to assume that getting married and being married is always 100% happiness, when it's really not. Glad to hear that you have a great support network though!!

I entered my 30s recently, so naturally there was a lot of self reflection over the past decade. Honestly compare to a lot of my friends of the same age and younger, I felt and still feel behind. Never even finished CC, cause I had to start earning money, than personal life stuff made things more difficult. Still working a part time job just to earn enough to not worry about things, but still not knowing what I want to do long term. Here's hoping to really figure things more out in my early 30s though lol.

When I was a teen, I thought I would be married by 25 and have a house and kids. I'm 30 now and have never had a gf. But I don't feel bad or weird about it, bc we all have a journey and mines is just different from what the world believes is normal. I was taught that singleness is a gift and should be cherished .Singleness is the season where you discover who you are and what's your purpose. Then the life partner may come along. So I am just waiting for that time being content with where I am at and where I am going.

Hikseu. Once again a super relatable video! 🤧 I'm still working on myself, and there are a lot of things I want to change, improve, or achieve. Gosh, I've got a lot of regrets too! This is definitely not the life I would have imagined when I was younger, and seeing people around me getting their lives together only emphasizes that notion. Still, looking back to my journey so far, there are also many small things that I should be proud of, and that's something I always forget. I'm slowly getting better and I keep learning about myself and my life everyday, which is an achievement in itself. Thank you very much for the video. I'll be looking forward to the next one! (Btw, I legit thought you'd say, "Let me know if you know someone who wants to be my life partner." 😂 May that one birthday wish come true soon! 🙈✨)

I get what you're feeling. But if you are happy and enjoying your life now, it doesn't matter if your friends are married or not. And who says your married friends are at a level you're not? What if their personal skills can never match your work as an artist/graphic designer? My point is , I wouldn't look at anything about anyone's life as a "level" to meet when it's more about how much you are enjoying this life you have. Sending you love, Jenn.
