Kevin Pietersen is England’s most famous and controversial cricketer of the modern era. He’s now been told he’ll never play for England again but that doesn’t mean he’s hanging up his bat.
Filmed in London, the Caribbean and South Africa, Being Kevin Pietersen offers a fascinating insight into the life of a very modern cricketer.
The film includes fascinating footage of Pietersen playing for the St Lucia Zouks in the Caribbean Premier League. The former England captain agreed to wear a microphone for a whole match as he captained the team against Trinidad. This highly revealing material offers cricket fans a unique insight into the on-field conversations as never heard before.
The production team also accompanied Pietersen and his wife, former Liberty X pop star Jessica Taylor, on safari in South Africa.
Other interviewees include Shane Warne, Michael Vaughan, Darren Gough and Kevin Pietersen’s parents.
Being Kevin Pietersen is produced by the same team who made Keane & Vieira: Best of Enemies for ITV4 and also the recently released biopic of Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney.

KP was an absolute genius. He had hit runs against every country and every corner of the world. He was the man of all formats. He helped England to clinch victory in Ashes 2005 by hitting most runs and 2010 T20 WC where he was also the player of the series. With all these achievements this guy's international career still couldn't last for 10 years. Even if I agree that KP has some behavioral issues, you still need players like him who could win matches for your team. Most important of all, he always played in the spirit of the games, never cheated or did anything rude on the ground.

Pieterson was a brilliant bats man, that’s not good enough for the pompous wankers in England. In England from being Five years old you need to fit in and say the right thing and have the right family, even if your working class. Thus, our sportsman are picked from a very small gene pool, a gene pool of yes men with no balls our spirit, sometimes the odd one slips through the net, you know who they are? Botham for one but even he was held back to a certain extent, at school We the so called rough ones would take on the school football and cricket team to give them practice, we would spank their arses every time, we were not picked for the team because we smoked and didn’t do our home work. Some of these guys went professional, but we could still spank their arses. Enough said!
