The best thing to come out of Kevin being dropped, Was seeing England lose game after game because of him not being in the team. Kevin asked Andrew Strauss what he needed to do to get back in the England team, Strauss said score runs. So he goes and scores 355*, Still not good enough. The Bloody Bastards.

KP was lazy. I was in Dubai watching him bat against Pakistan. Pakistan made a field change putting someone in leg slip, and he didn't even look. I remarked on this to my friends and the very next ball, he was caught by leg slip playing a stupid shot. We all laughed at how prophetic it was, after a few expletives. Fine player on his day, but a liability.

Goughie summed it up for me ,everybody wants to play like him now.Understood that batsman are there to score runs not occupy the crease and that even the best bowlers are intimidated by all out attack. On a personal note he's now just as good as a commentator and shows his true big heart in his conservation work, thanks for the memories, genius

Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff and Ian Botham. Shared characteristics? Ability to play at a whole new level and........ really hard to manage. We don't understand how they are so good and they don't understand why we're not! It's not a new thing in sport. John McEnroe, Maradona, George Best etc etc. They are on a different level and we have to appreciate that for good and bad. KP was the most amazing batsman I have ever watched play. In the video he hit that mid foot leg side flick through mid wicket. The commentator mentioned Sir Viv. Now we all know how incredibly amazingly cool Viv was but he never hit a shot like that. Feels weird to write it but I think KP was a better batsman in his day than Sir Viv was in his.

Aside from the 2005 Ashes and then the golden 2009-2012 period, England were a poor side across all formats for much of Kevin’s career.
