Insurance company will not let us have a wood stove But look at all the homes with out dated furnaces that catch fire HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours things will get better and I am Thankful for everything I have been given this year

Now that's a fact! Our house in NY was grandfathered in, but new homes couldn't have a wood stove set up like we did. That place is still standing and I bet the stove is still in use too. This furnace is nearing its end of life, but today isn't that day lol. Happy Thanksgiving, Jim!

Thank you, Steve! This is a propane fired furnace/ central ac unit from Nordyne. The exhaust gasses travel from the heat exchanger out to the chimney via a narrow rectangular channel that has 90° bends top & bottom. Over time debris and rust from an old chimney cap have settled in and mostly blocked off air flow. That was causing the burner to 'rollout' towards the air inlet... Not a good thing. But tomorrow I'll have a little more time and should be able to get everything back in good shape. Take it easy buddy!

We went to my parent's today to celebrate Turkey Day, so I didn't do much with the furnace. My plan is to wrap it up tomorrow for a different kind of Fire it up Friday 🔥 lol. Take care my friend!

There's no heat like wood heat. I've got a backup that's wood fired, but I think I'll have the gas job up and running tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving Buzz!

Thanks, Pat! We never did go cold, backup heat is always a good thing. I had the Mrs. purge the vent with a leaf blower while I held a cover over the exchanger... it made a mess but it sure did work. This week we're without power... have been since last Friday. Thankful for the little generator humming away outside!

All is well, I had the Mrs. use a leaf blower to purge from the top down while I held a bag over the receiver end and got covered in stuff LOL I never did find the socket...
