Being "tough on crime" is easy, dealing with the drivers of crime is tough

The Government wants us to believe it’s tough on crime with increased punitive responses to crime, but the really tough way to tackle crime is to deal with the drivers of criminal behaviour. Which is the opposite of what the government is doing.
