Wow... that is such a dicky thing to say about girls. Everyone has their own type that they prefer and even if someone is not attractive to you that does not mean that she is not attractive to someone else. It is completely wrong and disgusting for someone to try to get you to have sex just because of your nationality. It's sad at this point that I am no longer suprised by the amount of bastards who talk shit about women online because of their lack of education and general respect for HUMAN BEINGS.

I am Korean but I think Korea is still conservative and racist. So whenever I see a video like this, I feel sorry and embarrassed. However, some of the problems that people face in the video are what happened to also Korean people. From that point of view, I also realized that our country did not develop into such a culture. I hope my writing will help Korean people to realize that they are also aware of our country's problems. Also, do not be considered discrimination when you visit Korea by watching video like this. Lastly, I would like to you don’t judge Korea based on the side.

Pronunciation has to be so precise ? Have you ever studied other lanuguages ? I studied Mandarin Chinese for two years and it has the tones system where each vowel can be pronunced in 5 different ways (one being neutral). Compared to Mandarin, Korean doesn't have any pronunciation specificity. The most difficult aspect of Korean is by far its grammar complexity.

I know.* But I want to say this in Korean.

As an Asian born and raised in America I experience the same thing as well. I've walked on the street before and have had random people yell out, "Konnichiwa!" at me (I'm Chinese, by the way and konnichiwa is Japanese...?) I speak fluent English. I consider myself more American than Chinese, by far. Racism appears everywhere in the world. Not just Asia. It may be more severe considering how America is considered a "melting pot" of cultures while Asia isn't nearly as multicultural, but still. Sometimes I wish to look like some of the people in this video so I'd blend in better. It happens to everyone. Not "looking" like they blend in. Feeling like you're sticking out, facing the prejudices that others hold about you because of your skin.

ZodiacGuesser I think you've misinterpreted what I said. I'm super proud of being Chinese. I love that I can understand the language and culture. It's fun to sit at home with my parents and make dumplings, or eat moon cakes with them during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Although I've been treated harshly for my race, I still appreciate that it has made me who I am today. I consider myself more American because I can't read or write Chinese (though my listening comprehension skills are equivalent to a native speaker). There are also a lot of Chinese customs that I haven't heard of. I call myself American because I'm ignorant of a lot of things most actual Chinese people would know.

Greetings, under-18-years-old Japanese male who created a KZbin name that looks like a Korean name. It is my opinion that your statement, assuming that eri139 is indeed a Chinese-American, is incorrect; Hirohito, emperor of the imperial Japan during the second world war, surely would not have 'liked' a Chinese or an American, much less a person of both origin, seeing as how Japan was at war against the two countries. Big difference here is that Korea's a very culturally homogenous country that's only really opened up to the rest of the world culturally in the past 2 decades, whereas America, Canada, and Australia are all colonized nations, meaning that European immigrants barged into lands originally occupied by Natives, yet some of the descendants of these immigrants (modern day Americans, Canadians, Australians) have the audacity to consider themselves natives and treat recent immigrants as something lower than them. Vivian West I don’t think it’s selfish or demanding acceptance if you go there. Just like the people in this video, they wanna get to know the culture and people; that’s exactly what general tourism is. Do you really believe we want to force people to accept us, or visit a place like these guys? Why would you not be able to speak about a culture that is not yours when this is exactly what they are doing in this video? That is literally the sole reason tourism exists, to learn about and respect other’s cultures.

What I'm shocked THE most about in Korea is this one term mentioned by a Norwegian girl. Using the word "Russian" while implying a totally disrespectful thing. I know it's slang, I know not all Koreans use it... but still this term exists & lives on. Well, I'm Russian & am proud of it. And I feel really sorry for those who made this term up 'cause how mizerable can one be to even think of discriminating a whole nation just to... to... I don't even know for what sake. I really, really love Korea, I explore it a lot, I love learning more about it, I try & study the language & hope to visit it sometime... but this thing keeps bugging me & making me sad. Like... can I at least say proudly "Yes, I'm Russian" without risking of being misunderstood? Turns out that in Korea I can't. Dear people (not only Koreans, I refer to everyone), please stop using such terms. As well as "white horse" etc kind of things. That's really rude. Please try to be the best representatives of your nation & country.

I haven't experienced being asked if I'm Russian in Korea, but I saw a video where Martina from Eat Your Kimchi mentioned it too. It's indeed really disrespectful, and I feel bad for you and other Russian girls that they use it in this way. Maybe if you meet such a guy you should just give him a big rant, surely it will change his mind about Russian girls haha.

honestly most of the time people are just more racist because they don't interact with other races. Simple as that. They see the cosmetic differences and from that just surmise that everything else is different too. I used to think like that as a kid, because I grew up in one of the whitest places in the world, rural canada. That all changed for me when I went to summer camp: 80% of the people in my cabin were either middle-eastern descent or asian. By the end of it, we were like blood brothers. I'll never forget them. It's such a shame, because it's not those Koreans' fault, necessarily, that they are so racist. They are just painfully, tragically, naive and unexposed to their long lost brothers and sisters.

I may just speak as a tourist but I am from Mexico and I visited korea 6 months ago with my sister and my perspective is kind of different... actually nobody spoke or observed us in any different way, they would just continue with their lives without paying too much attention to us xD yes, they are not the super friendly type of people but they weren't rude either and on the other hand, older people would approach us and start conversations in korean with us, even though we don't speak a word xD we would just nod "deeeee" and they would continue talking, it was funny and cute at the same time, but in general I guess they are barely getting used to have foreigners interesed and obsessed with them, they are still in that assimilation process, vs other countries like USA, Great Britain, France, etc which population is 100% multicultural, and you see people from all races in a daily basis ;)

Oof, actually, on subways and in public, Koreans are more seclusion, and foreigners are more likely to think that they’re secretive, and quiet, but in private, they’re more likely to show affection, and they’re actually pretty loud. (I’m Korean, and have a Korean family). And in general, it’s just Korean nature to not want to draw attention to one’s self. Koreans don’t like fusses, and that’s why a lot of little kids are spoiled. If a little kid wants something, and the parent says no, the kid obviously will throw a tantrum, and Koreans being Korean just don’t want attention, or don’t want to make a scene, and to avoid this, they will just give what the child wants

I am here in Seoul at the moment and honestly? If I approach people they are always polite and try to help. I have also been drawn into conversation by older lady's without understanding a word, but they are sweet and interested. The starring on the subway needs some getting used to, but I get it, I am a big, white, tattooed german girl, travelling alone, so people are curious. It's not that bad! What I find worse is the fact that there are cafes and restaurants that don't allow foreigners. That IS racist and should be adressed! You would never see something like that in Europe, especially not in Germany, no matter if the staff speaks English or not...

I like very much your video, I'm from Brazil, and we have the biggest foreign communities in the world, besides an historic colonization of many countries, like Italy, Germany, Japan, south Arabic, Portugal, and ethical groups like Jews, Africans, Muslims. I always admire the Korean people and I glad you're doing something for everyone who want be a part of a globalised world, where people can find a pacific way to live together.

I’m Japanese girl and one time I lost in Korea at night and 2 men who look like mafia wearing black suit with sunglasses followed me. 2 nice Korean girls helped me by pretending they were with me and sent me to my hotel by taxi. Everyone tried to help me in everywhere I went as well. I want to ask people who spoke in this video, is your country treat all foreigns so perfect ? they complained too much but I had bad experience in a lot of countries I traveled: Russia, Mexico etc ...

I lived in japan for a while and i had a stalker once, He talked with me saying that he doesn't like japanese women but he thought that forgeiners were a lot better and prettier and then he saw my neighbour talking with me and when i left he told her to keep an eye on me because i'm a foreigner so i must be dangerous, I also lived in an apartment and someone stole my underwear (lol) So it's still the same but it's true that japanese people are more open about foreigners.

People may not like this but this is a personal story, many white people hate the word "racism" and often get offended and claim I'm playing a "race card" (whatever that is??). I can only say what happened in my experience. Like in this video, I see the same fascination toward white foreigners in India. For example, I recently got married in India and my now husbands family came over. It was so bizarre for me to see my own people treat their own kind like lesser than the fair skinned foreigners - they were coming up to take selfies and photos with my husbands family who were all white, to ask if they needed help and went out of their way for them everywhere we went. There was a mosque which specially opened up to allow the women in the group in - although I knew my own aunt and cousin, both Indian, were not allowed in when they went before. In the streets and landmarks my husbands family were literally getting swarmed by Indians who wanted to take pictures of them as if they were Gods, it was so bizarre as I had never known about it or experienced it. The same happened to my husbands sister and boyfriend when they later went to Delhi and couldn't stand it as they were just constantly pestered - instead of taking photos of the attractions, people wanted photos with them. Meanwhile, my own relatives and myself were largely ignored or overlooked, despite the fact that it was my family who had arranged for everything. What makes it all worse, is the perspective and double standards, because in the UK I have never been treated anything like that by the white natives. I have been told to F off back to my country (once, during a meal with friends, a random old guy came over to our table to say this to me, which ruined my evening and really upset me), to go take a bath, been called a dirty Paki and all the rest of it. This perception is relatively unknown of from within India itself. Somehow, Indians think fair skin is the superior quality colour and there is some kind of weird fascination about it. There is a caste system in India as well which only further accentuates the issue - the lower caste are often darker skinned and viewed as lesser people. Yet, in the UK, people will go to tanning beds to get fake tanned but hate on people who are naturally brown (talking about a select group of people, of course many people are kind and hospitable). I will just never understand racism ....from any angle. I've seen so many places in the world and honestly, the world is just too big to worry about what colour a human is - inside we are all the same and bleed red after all so who cares 🤷♀️🤷♀️

@@jewelryboxballerina hi, thanks for sharing your experience. First of all, I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience 😥😥. I never knew it was even a thing with Indians before we went and got married there - tbh, Indians can be most intolerant toward other Indians if they are darker skin coloured, but as you pointed out, more so toward African Americans. It is if course, largely race that plays a part as you said, but fair skin is also deemed an attractive quality in India, as in many Asian cultures. I just can't fathom what drives people to hate others/ treat them less favourably based on race - surely, theres more important things to do e.g. sort out poverty and other world policy issues, etc 🤷♀️🤷♀️

Sorry you had such a bad time with people in the country I have been raised in the Uk at school I hear it all the time I don’t get it if someone has a lighter skin tone doesn’t mean they’re superior and if they have a darker skin tone doesn’t mean they’re inferior or if their culture is different to yours don’t make fun of them and call their culture weird learn about their dances music beliefs food and architecture if a person is in your country from another don’t ruin their day by saying something hurtful or make them feel like a outsider we are all human after all we all cry and laugh and are on the same planet life happens so quickly why waste it by being negative

Calling anyone "white" is stupidity just because someone is lighter, doesn't make them "white". EVERYONE is a person of color, and yes "white" people can be and are discriminated against. That being said most EVERYONE in the world is multi racial and multi cultural .
@workingoutpizza5 жыл бұрын
@@gingerberry1472 I appreciate what you are saying and, if you read my message once again, you may take note that I have never stated that white or lighter skin toned people (or whatever is the appropriate political definition, as far as I've heard published mediums and general public describe as white people) are not discriminated against. As I described, it is a "personal" story from my own experience. It would be a different, and justifiable, interpretation from your behalf to have made your comment had I in fact stated somewhere in my comment, that white people are never discriminated against. Which I did not. In actual fact, the people I was talking about were being discriminated against as well because of their fair skin tone, as certain people in my country (those who have limited exposure of cultures outside of India, and who are not used to heterogeneous diversity) kept taking photos with them and crowding around them, because of how they looked. That is indeed a form of discrimination. However, my sharing a personal experience does not justify or give you the right to get defensive and make it like you are a targeted victim of my statement, as you are not. In fact, that only proves my point - whenever I, or any friend from a minority group, try to talk about our experiences of racism, my white/light friends dont want to hear it, even when they see it happening themselves they act like it is no big deal. Or like you, get super defensive when that's completely missing the point. When I was a kid I never even knew what racism was, I never saw myself as different from anyone else. Only until I moved here did I begin to experience this horrible stuff and I can never understand why. If I tried to talk to you about this issue, would you listen or react? That is the root of the problem. If nobody is allowed to talk about it then how will the "other" group ever understand? You also do not seem to understand the very distinct difference between discrimination and racism. What I was talking about was racism, in fact I was talking about inter-racism, as I myself am Indian and I found the reaction from my own people towards my in-law family (who are white) contrasted to my family and myself, very strange. I mean they were treated like celebrities. You may not get it but in some cultures the light skin tone is seen as most beautiful, while the darker tone is not, yet I wondered how they'd react if they knew how it was for us in the opposite culture. That was the point of my comment. What you're talking about, although valid, is different to what I'm talking about. Hope that clears it up 👌👌 Ps. No intention to offend anybody using "white" or "black", it is what I grew up being told. If it is different please inform me, thanks.

Yeah it's such an unusual thing like I just couldn't imagine it. I don't really have much to add except that racist British guy represents basically the elder British generation which pisses me off. I'm a 17 year old white British girl and I see the racism in my grandparents and my dad sometimes makes jokes. But my dad dislikes most people 😅 as a northerner he dislikes most 'posh' southerners, and children, loud people, teenagers, anyone who is different, you get the idea 😂😂 but I know he'd never actually treat someone differently, or say something to them. I feel more optimistic about my generation being less racist :) my college is a mix of religions mostly non-religious, Muslim, Catholic or chiristian. There's a mix of races, black, aisan, white and people just see everyone as equal which I love, everyone dresses how they want too 😁 but I feel like it's all about upbringing. I'm used to seeing and talking to people of different races, so it's just normal to me. But I can definitely see how if you've not had that experience it can interesting, if you believe in the beauty of fair skin and finally see someone with fair skin, you would be fascinated. And about the issue of how Indians can treat other people of dark skin lesser is probably due to them searching for a way to ellivate themselves. I think this was similar to why the working class people supported the British empire because it gave them a sense of superiority they desired, an escape from being the lowest in society. So in a way I think people end up treating people lesser than themselves just to feel better than the lowest. Just a theory 🤔🤔
