The journey to becoming the woman you see today wasn’t the easiest. But I wanted it bad enough to fight for the person I knew I could be. Telling my story isn’t easy but I’m trusting that God will guide me on this journey. ❤

Thank you for sharing your experience with us BRI. I come from a similar background but mines was opposite. My mom is my BF and my dad and I have a rocky relationship. Some of the traumas I endured shaped the wife I became. My ex husband just didn't understand..anyway.. I pray I get a second chance someday, but only God knows. Thank you for being you! Sending positive vibes to you and your family.❤

Wow, this is so relatable on both sides! Britney, the beauty of your experience is that you had your dad there to reassure you. For me, though, both of my parents were absent in different ways-my mom was physically there, but emotionally unavailable. Now, at 34, I’ve been married for 12 years and with my husband for 20, and we have 3 beautiful children. Sadly, we lost our first two. The unresolved trauma from my early childhood is something I’ve promised myself my own kids will never experience. Darryl, I can relate to you in terms of supporting my husband, especially when he forgets we’re on the same team. We definitely go through tough times, but with faith in God, everything works out! Love the podcast!! ❤️❤️❤️

Britt don't give up on your mom. She acted out of trauma that she probably still haven't process yet. Childhood trauma is real. I wonder how she was treated as a child. Her mother and father probably never showed her love. See if she's willing to do counseling. Praying for her and y'all relationship.

Thank God You broke the cycle! It sounds like your mom is a Covert Narcissist. My ex husband exhibited the same behavior. I raised my kids by myself in the 30 years we were married. You have a wonderful husband that did not take your wounds and throw them in your face. We suffer from PTSD after dealing with these people. Your mother might have suffered from a traumatic experience in her life that made her become the person that she is. Hurt people Hurt people!😢 God is a healer!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️

I'm sorry you have that type of relationship with your mom. I feel like I can relate to this kinda. It started changing a little bit at a time and now we barely speak to each other.
