According to my neurologist, a B12 deficiency at the same time of vitamin D deficiency causes an elevation in the level of homocysteine in the blood which in turn causes brain inflammation. That process translates into dementia symptoms. These symptoms are reversible if caught early enough. Don't ignore your B12 deficiency and check your vitamin D level. :)

@lansingrower spent months chasing down vitamin this, vitamin that...thyroid this, thyroid that...only to return to the original thesis that it's cerebrovascular small vessel ischemic disease. So many of these Dr's are quacks that don't listen.

My wife's brother that has been living with us for a few years now has had memory relapse repeatedly. I was ignoring them and didn't know much about it until recently. We've had lots of heated arguments and I did asked him to move out but doesn't even try to do it. Recently we had another argument and the next day he saw me like nothing happened and I even ask him to stay away because I'm still upset at him. The next day he came to again like nothing had happened. He also been losing things and will ask questions like I know something about it. He will purchase something expensive and by the following week he will forget where it was or leave it at the back seat of an Uber car. Does a memory relapse of someone with dementia includes harming anyone and then completely forgot about it? Enough that even when he stands before the actual crime scene that he just committed he will be as surprise as anyone looking at it.

I also want to know. I've only been told about frontotemporal dementia, but I'm not sure that it describes my family member's situation (forgetfulness, accusations towards family, spending lots of money)

By harming someone you mean having a argument the day before? Or that he might murder you and forget about?? The answer to the first one yes. Short term memory loss is just that.. Short term. They wake up and it's like a brand new day and as far as They know everything is just fine. But it's definitely a sign something is wrong and y'all need to get him checked out and maybe take something to help

My father and his brother suffered from dementia. What is the chances I will have dementia? Is there a test for it and what is the name of it.

I worry about this, as well. Dementia is so common now that l am concerned about the future, wondering if l will get this awful diagnosis. I try to socialize, but in my residence, the people are mostly talking negatively, so this is not good, but l aim to remain positive. Aging is no fun. I'm lucky to have purchased a piano a few years ago, and enjoy playing it, also l try to do positive things when l can, like long walks, weather permitting, and joining in with the activities in my residence.

Hmm. She has a low B12 level and hasn't checked out the implications(???) I began B12 injections many years ago. My symptoms were what led to having it tested.

I believe it depends on the individual. Two different physicians have prescribed B12 injections for me @@jakobausterlitz8102
