Beirut as a band has, legitimately, saved my life. Since I became a fan in 2015 (my first song being Mimizan) I have underwent the loss of loved ones, the breakdown of my engagement, and (at times severe) alcohol abuse. I am by no means "fixed" and am on a long road to recovery from these things, but above all else it is this band's music which has kept me afloat. God bless you all.

Gallipoli is close to my hometown, and yes, it feels so good to listen to this song - the smile on my face is the same when in Gallipoli, when spotting the sea and the sun.
