If you take the stitch length and make it "0" so it just goes up and down, not moving back and forth, you should be able to free motion quilt with no regulation as we do on industrial sewing machines.

Question - can the stitch regulation be used without the frame? For example, could the fabric be moved to quilt, similar to a sit down model without a frame?

That is a great question Sharon! Yes, you can use the Little Rebel as a sit down model. Then new optical encoder sits next to the needle plate so it can always track your fabric. Feel free to learn more about our product at graceframe.com/en/sewing-machines/little-rebel
