Liberos are so underrated. People only focus on spikes. Well news flash there can't be a spike without a set and there can't be a set without a great pass. It all lies on the passers shoulders.

Thank you, I hope it's true... but... wtf!! There are volley rules, may be in USA there will be 7 players on the floor? I think it's allowed only in such games between girls, it's not a volley for 100%. She's nice.

according to wikipedia a libero is not allowed to serve, according to international rules, with the exception of the NCAA women's volleyball games, where a 2004 rule change allows the libero to serve, but only in a specific rotation. That is, the libero can only serve for one person, not for all of the people for whom she goes in. That rule change was also applied to high school and junior high play soon after.

Clara pinto: In North America, the libero is not allowed to hit above the attack line even if he/she doesn't jump. The libero can attack from the back row however without jumping.

Liberos can serve if their coach or coaches want them to. Some liberos don't serve because the team she/he is on has powerful and consistent servers. Also, some states don't allow liberos to serve. The opposing team usually aims their serve at the libero to tire them out so she/he won't be keen to receive spikes or difficult saves. (:

Libero CAN serve - Rule 10-4-5a (page 42) in the 2013-2014 NFHS Rules Book and has been in this rules book for several years.

That's really intersting ! In France the Libero is not allowed to serve, I should play in America ;) ! But in Usa is the libero allowed to attack ? And the libero in this video is not that great, but she did a good jub :)

Crazy_Girl Nr1 you gotta be quick on your feet, you gotta be fast when the ball comes towards you and make sure it never hits the ground

your arms will start hurting when you first start because you are the one that gets all the hard spikes. You have be very quick and aggressive. Do whatever you have to do to make sure the ball doesnt touch the ground.

How is it like to be a libero? For me, you gotta love the court very much. Because you'll roll and slide everywhere to save the ball from touching to floor, and I mean EVERYWHERE even though it seems impossible for your teammate. Sometimes nobody thanks you for that, but, that is libero's job aite? Haha. One more, libero is the lead for defensive in the team. Get use to it and the court is yours. If you have very quick reflex, you'll definitely become a good libero with proper training. If not, don't worry. You still can trained yourself to master every basic for volleyball. With good skills and experiences, the reflex talent will come in no time. Sorry if my saying is different with any knowledge. But yeah, I'm open for discussion. :) Have fun with volleyball !!

I see what your saying but unless your playing against an out of shape libero that you think you can tire out you should never serve at the libero, you want to serve to the weakest passer not the best.
