I am from Belgaum and my mother tongue is Marathi. My community people feel like we are fighting for our rights in our own country. Every document is turned into kannada including property papers and name plates of shops buses etc. We are forced to follow kannada even local police do discrimination. We are fed of both Karnataka and Maharashtra. We demand separate State where both Marathi and kannada will be respected and their fundamental rights will be protected.

2/3 of this should be given to Maharashtra as they r marathi speaking, but since it's in karnataka so they also have the right so gave 1/3 to karnataka... And if both the states don't agree make it a union territory...its my opinion. There should be no rivalries between states.

Belagavi has majority of Kannada speakers. That is why it's added to Karnataka. Maharashtra politicians use it to get easy votes in Maharashtra. It's a pure politics. We shouldn't entertain these things and expect our politicians to focus on development.
