Two foot gauge Hudswell Clarke, "Wauchope", being used to bed in new trackwork at Mandalong, South of Newcastle. The heavy loco works hard on some very steep grades in the beautiful Australian bushland.

I mean, there’s nothing wrong with your 3801s, and larger mainline steam locos, but narrow gauge railways have an attraction all their own! Thanks for posting another video of the Mandalong line, the progress of track laying and restoration of their locos. It’s a great watch!👍🏻👍🏻

This video and the two of Fairymead have been absolutely fascinating to watch! I’ve always had the dream of banding together with my friends and building a private railway together but to see people actually doing it is amazing

So cool if get you have one of your late fathers locos up and running. Brilliant. I enjoyed visiting your father all those years ago in St Ives.

Greetings from England, Hudswell Clarke Narrow Gauge Steam Engine, Wauchope reminds me of Fiji. Fiji is another Hudswell Clarke Narrow Gauge Steam Engine like Wauchope, built in 1912 by Hudswell Clarke in Leeds & was sent to work in Fiji. Today, Fiji now runs on the Statfold Barn Railway near Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Is this a railway open to the public? Would love to have a ride on a Hudswell class.
@BelbinVideo Жыл бұрын
I'm afraid it is a private railway. The only way we can operate, nowadays.

@@BelbinVideo No worries, will just have to wait for Woodford to eventually get their's running again.

Your video came on as I sat down and relaxed. Wow what a awesome machine with a mighty Toot Toot. I throughly enjoyed it! Does the Engineer owned it? Is it his property and he and good friends built the railway?

Linda, glad you enjoyed it and, yes, you've pretty much summed it up. A few of us have locos there and this one is owned by the two guys most often in the cab.

Looking nice. What are you using to fix the track to the sleepers?

6:48 Great to see the steam in action, but running a heavy loco on unballasted track risks damaging the rails.

Do they have a plan for how much track they want to lay

Excuse my ignorance, but is that a restored locomotive, a new purchase, or...?

Where is this as I can't find a website.
@BelbinVideo10 ай бұрын
There is no website as it is a private railway. The legal costs and paperwork involved in opening to the public would be astronomical.
