I think they did this song specifically because the Grammys was in Vegas this year and they were opening. They played at the Grammys live. This is still at the MGM Grand Garden Arena which is across the street from their Vegas venue at the Dolby Theater I believe (it might be right next to it, I don't remember, we got lost lol). And this opening is just like their show...they do the intro first, and then go right into 777 on the instruments like this. These outfits are very Elvis in Vegas and James Brown lol got the card suits on 'em.

Yes Grammys were in Vegas. In addition to all instrumental elements you mentioned, I love when the organ player holds out the chord after they say ‘7-7-7, let’s gooooo…’. He holds it out for like 2 or 4 bars while the horns play their line on top. Gr8 reaction!

What a surprise! I was so glad to see your reaction. The performance was fire! It was so great to get a taste of their Vegas show since I won't get to see them live. They opened the Grammys, we got to see them accept two of their awards, and they did a funny schtick at their table with host Trevor Noah. Can't get enough of Silk Sonic!

This performance was 🔥🔥🔥🔥as always they killed it and whatever political stuff is going on is not something that Silk Sonic have anything to do with. They work hard and submit their work and sit back like everyone else at the same time knowing stuff can go down beyond any of the artists control. So all deserve their flowers for their contribution to this industry and achieving what they set out to do, entertain. Being a creative it’s not about the awards, they’re nice, however it’s more about the magic they bring to their fans and the ability to have relevant continued life in the industry. Bruno and Anderson had a brilliant night and looked to be enjoying themselves. That’s the payoff, it’s got to be fun, and a celebration at the end of all that hard work creating this amazing album…timeless music, they deserve to receive those shiny reminders. I love what they do, am grateful to be sitting back watching them shine. 🐨👏🏼 great reaction as always. 🏆🏆🏆🏆 It was on stage at the Grammys, should check out the two awards they received during what went to air that was another show in itself🤣🤩 Phredley Brown who normally plays guitar or keys on bass and Mateus Asato on guitar. Grammys were in Vegas so this is actually at the grammys. The theater they're doing their residency at is nowhere near this size or has all the people up front with tables. I wish the bass was a little more in the mix too. I think I saw epanda back there on percussion. They clearly made it a point for this performance to focus in on the big two up front. The guitar player was killing it too, thought theyd give him a little camera moment.

The performance was at the Grammys across the road from where their shows are. There is a view from another angle as well during the breakdown, James Brown Esk. And Bruno told them to get up ,they did. That's one of his drivers to get everyone to their feet and partying 🤣 It is a shame that they select only a few artist to present live, I think this is where the sour grapes come in. Everyone deserves to have their moment. But as always Silk Sonic do such a great job so I'm not going to complain. Wanna watch and listen from all angles. The Vegas thing makes sense - and to your point about the air time yes this also makes sense. Logistically it would be a marathon event if everyone performed, but it would also be nice to be able to showcase a lot of the talent. With your and your friend’s knowledge of instruments, would you agree with me that it would be more enjoyable if Silk Sonic had a longer set and showcased each members’ virtuosity with their instruments like they did briefly when they segued to jazz….I’m thinking like Santana’s performance of Soul Sacrifice at the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Look it up in KZbin and enjoy. (Note: I was 10 in ‘69, and to this day I am hooked with Santana’s performance).

Just thought of another tribute you should have a look at... Bob Marley Tribute with Sting, Rhianna and the Marley boys. Bruno said in an interview that was the performance that scored them the first Super Bowl half time show. Also Liquor Shop Blues with Daniel Marley and A recent short posted by a fan of a private show Bruno did for McDonalds. Please me captures anther funny moment where Bruno cracks up mid vocal due to Kam, trombone and backing vocals improve Cardi B line, really 😂 Not brilliant quality but there are 3 clips and it's great to see them doing some of the older stuff, great to revisit. Mateus is on guitar as with the Grammys, so pretty recent. Not sure if Jamerio was on bass for each it looked like Phredly. Love how these guys are so multi talented and bounce around so many instruments. Just adds that extra sauce that they're all so good at. By the way I love the jacket. If you don't see yourself on stage in it I have a perfect outfit that It'll work beautifully to finish off.🐨👏🏻Bling

Can’t wait for you to see a recording that includes more from this guitarist. I got to see Silk Sonic in Vegas last month. Fabulous show, but the guitarist (I think his name is Mateus) just totally blew me away. Incredible. He did a full-length rendition of “Pure Imagination” that was just amazing.
