Yes, I saw an evening with silk sonic and 24k show in Vegas, and they were freaking awesome. My son is a HUGE Bruno mars fan, and he was dancing and singing. Spectacular show. The bass player is even better in person.

Shout out to the musicians on stage, from left to right: Jamareo Artis (bass), Mateus Asato (guitar), Eric Hernandez (congas/percussion, usually drums), John Fossit (keyboard), Jimmy King (backing vocals, tambourine, usually trumpet), Kameron Whalum (backing vocals, trombone), Dwayne Dugger (saxophone), and Maurice Brown (trumpet). And let's not forget: Bruno Mars (vocals, guitar) and Anderson .Paak (vocals, drums).

So used to seeing drummers make the stank face when they're laying down the beat, but Anderson's just smiling away while he slays us all! I love it! Also, can we please talk about Bruno some more? My lordy! LORDY LORDY!!

I saw Silk Sonic in Vegas on March 25. The absolute best show I’ve ever seen in my life!!! No backing tracks, no artificial fillers, just them. And Bruno is like 5’4” and owned every freakin’ inch of that stage! Incredible 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Yes, and that spectacular bass player's name is Jamareo (Jam) Artis, and he's been Bruno's bass man and a member of The Hooligans since the very beginning of Bruno's solo career...about 12 years now.

I love watching music reactions by people who KNOW music. You, my dear, have become one my favs. I've really enjoyed all of your Silk Sonic reactions very much...especially this one. The love you showed the bassist is soooo appreciated. As you can see from my thumbnail pic, I am rather partial to that instrument.
@cms-pacnw3315 Жыл бұрын
Great commentary on this fantastic Silk Sonic performance. One of my very favorite points that you made in this reaction was explaining why these two are so comfortable and in total control of all their performances, and that is because they both grew up being gigging musicians...playing the dive bars and the hole in the wall venues and becoming seasoned vets along the way. They are masters at working the crowd and are totally at ease with their instruments, their vocals, their talent and their swag. It's all so natural and so charming. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for Silk Sonic all of last year, and for choosing their album as your personal Album of the Year. I agreed. It was mine, too. (Love your channel)

"The comfort" YES!! Thank you, finally somebody says it! We're all (rightly) raving about how incredible they are on that stage, but in reality this is a walk in the park for them. This is what they have spent the majority of their lives doing and it shows. They are musicians, that's their bread and butter.

In that interlude at 5:12, they are actually quoting Soho's Hot Music which is a classic house track from the 90s, early 2000s. The track was very big in NYC, Jersey, and Philly.

You did well catchin a lot of music details, especially bass player Jamareo Artis, goin off , while still nailing the part. That was crazy! The playing reminded me of Tower of Power, or bassist Anthony Jackson who played on O’Jays’ For the Love of Money & Chaka’s Cloud. The jazz section was from an ‘80’s house music hit called, Hot Music, by a group called Soho. They sampled Jazz pianist Marcus Robert’s part to a Wynton Marsalis recording, & they also sampled James Brown’s voice from his hit, Sex Machine. Great expressive reaction! Almost everyone reacting cuts off before Trevor’s remark: ‘Even if you don’t have a girlfriend they just stole her from you!’ 😅👍🏾🎶

@TuneStunnaMusic2 жыл бұрын
Liza FYI, the jazz breakdown in the middle of this performance is a cover of Sohos "Hot Music" which is a sample of Wynton Marsalis, and the "getup" is "Feel Good, Party Time" by JR Funk. Sounds like JB, but its not. You'll recognize the actual Soho Song when you hear it. Its a club staple. Im not sure why SS threw that in this performance, but it does work nicely. The audience seems to recognize it.

The bass is a little more prominent in the mix here, compared to the album version. But it is in unison with the horn lines for most of the choruses in both versions. Of course this is the adrenaline-spiked version though... ;)

@@yolo3718 The Scammys vote is rigged towards Americans. All 7 are involved in writing and producing their songs and albums. Suga plays piano and guitar. Jin plays the piano, JK plays the drums, Jimin plays guitar etc. All 7 are individually talented. They are not just any old boy band. Jimin is a classically trained dancer too. The Grammys disrespected and undervalued them. I hope BTS refuse to attend next time. When BTS were performing on stage the Scammys got an extra 100,000 views. ARMY. who needs who. they might steal a show but it certainly wasn't this one and never will if bruno/anderson/ss are performing. to say silk sonic was ok reveals how musically illiterate you are. please stop comparing a studio boy band to bruno, anderson and the band. popular doesn't equate to greatness. bts and most others are simply not on this tier. 777 was the best performance of the night. period. actually bts was ok even though I've seen better boy bands; they're fine for what they do, however, your comment here is wrongly placed and should be inserted where the playing field is more even i.e., with other studio artists. when your favs, and I don't care who that is, puts in the effort and work to achieve the level of perfection these guys do, then maybe your fav(s) can bubble up and win as well. bet you wouldn't be calling it a "scammy" if they'd won though, just saying. I suggest you get off your petty, pity train and encourage them to keep working to get to this tier instead of trying to dismiss the talents of the sensational silk sonic.🙄 you study the greats to become great...
