Didn’t realise how much a Cherryvalley accent Diane Harron had. Perhaps it was because she was with Valerie Singleton. She reduces the Troubles to an interesting story for tourists. A lot of people here who weren’t directly affected did this.

Got stuck in one of the those fucking turnstiles once as a kid. Then Mum hit me for crying... ah early 1980s Belfast. Still miss Leisure World in Queen's Street

BBC Northern Ireland journalists loved the Troubles. The Troubles turned NI from a quiet, boring little backwater into an ongoing major international news story. You can hear the relish in Diane Harrons voice as she shows her English colleague around.

True. We had the biggest billboard in the world! By this measure The Troubles made NI an interesting place for a long number of years. It didn’t achieve anything else.

Now most of the free world is trying to replicate Northern Ireland's troubles by importing third world nomads who are causing civil unrest, racism, sectarianism and out of control crime. Envy of N.I.,'s celebrity status has spawned a social nightmare.
