My Belgium is loyal, loving & protective. She supersedes most people I’ve had in my life. She is now my emotional support dog; she amazes every single day. And to think, my previous dogs were Yorkies. Gorgeous little dogs but can’t compete to a Belgium Malinois.

For subduing a fleeing subject the adult male German Shepard's extra bulk can give him the edge, but if a Malinois gets his teeth into you it is game over.

Respectfully disagree. I love GSDs and their wonderful size and appearance gives an unparalleled intimidation factor. But, Mals are much faster and agile. They are known for giving an extreme punch in their takedowns of a subject, fleeing or not. Have 2 maligators of my own.❤

As for bite? I wouldn't want a bit from a GSD, Mal or Dutchie!!

@@helenwilliams7065 I agree. I like GS for residential home security though. For a family looking for a guard dog the GS is perfect. I also think the GS has a lower prey drive, it's natural instinct is to guard rather than chase.

@@dlions9068 Disclaimer, I've never owned a GSD, just known many over the years. That sounds pretty accurate to me. Although, Mals can be socialized to other animals and there's a wide range of prey drive. My first Mal passed at age 15 about 3 yrs ago. He was the best dog ever, and definitely had a lower drive than even his litter mates. My current 2 maniacs are a different story, but they're doing ok. It's a process. Biggest problem for me with GSD is the shedding and possibility of health issues. Such lovely dogs tho. ❤️

My Dream Dog. I can only wish. I am the proud friend of a high intelligence with similar characteristics; a Pembroke Corgi. Don't laugh. Corgi's are exceptional dogs to train. High IQ. Active. Needs daily obedience reminders. They love to learn. Sadly even the most athletic Corgis can't keep up with a Malinois.

I would love to have one but I couldn’t handle the energy.
