A sad game in term of rythm, construction and overall quality. The lose against England was more enjoyable than this. Martinez should make them pratice their long range attempt, we're definitely gonna need it. If you can't make dizy a double line of defenders, you're gonna have to try to blast the ball it in. I had great expectation about Carrasco after his recent games before the Nations League, but how many great opportunities he has put out of the frame. Plus, the left side was completely opened with him and Doku who was a ghost. I think i've seen him during the five first minutes and then nothing. Also can someone explain to me why Vanacken is still on the pitch ? More than being useless, he's pathetically bad ! I wonder why we didn't show his great entrance after almost receiving a yellow card after 10 secs in the game. Alexis Saelemaekers, Zinho Vanheusden had to go back with the U21 who have been more usefull than him in one game than all the play time he had already. Well, maybe that's because they're playing their last season with them ? Or even Versharen who needs to improve but at least has quality and motivation. Someone at the RBFA must like Bruges a fucking lot... I know it's Martinez who makes his call, like don't believe there isn't a bit of pressure behind. The team is okay. The defenders are trustworthy, Witsel and Tielemans were fine but lack of coordination in the middle, Meunier is a bit scary considering his interventions but does the job, Castagne brought a new dynamic in the game has usual nothing to say about him, Lukaku saved the day once more. Trossard has definitely earn his place here like Boyata did during the world cup. Mignolet could have saved that goal in my opinion if he hadn't got out like Neuer but it happens. We're just playing by making way too many (unnecessary) passes and bringing the ball back without stretching their lines, it's just lose of time. The recent games are reminding me of what Wilmots did : keeping control over the ball and waiting for a miracle by one great player. We'ill need a lot more practice with the new generation.

The catalan game of martinez (quick play, tiki taka, counter attack, good vista) developed our short pass ability, but without KDB our long pass game just disappeared... Under wilmots we hadn't this ability of creation in the small spaces, almost half of our goals were rebounds or long range. So martinez did a good job, but God... we NEED kdb back
